Yeah, there are substances that generate heightmaps and normal maps. And you can export them to edit and then use it in the shader.

It "works", but you only get good performance on high/mid-tier devices. I would even say only on high-tier.

Is the "ringed planet" compatible in the new version? If so what needs to be set up. Thank you.

You need to unwrap the "planet" part of the ring for the clouds (and probably get clouds textures with cylindrical projection), otherwise, it should work the same.

Wait, what did you mean by "ringed planet"? Planetary ring or the ring planet like in halo? The planetary ring is just a prefab. Instantiate it and set up the shader parameters you want.

The shader is beautiful. I was referring to the Halo planet couldn't seem to get it to work with the new shader so just used the old one for it. I use it in my project Planetarium 2 Zen Odyssey.

    MOBILE PERFORMANCE

Scene takes awhile to load. Tested on a Asus Zenpad 3s10 Tablet (Fairly High End Device 4GB Ram, Hexa-Core)

    Fastest Quality Settings > 25-30FPS
    Fast Quality Settings > 25-30FPS
    Simple Quality Settings > 25-30FPS
    Good Quality Settings > 25-30FPS
    Beautiful Quality Settings > 15-20FPS
    Fantastic Quality Settings > 15-20FPS

It works but would say recommended for only high end devices. I wouldn't say this asset is mobile friendly. As someone has mentioned the sphere uses a high poly sphere wondering if used a normal one would improve performance.

    Hi there!

How is it going? The asset seam to be broken in 2018.1.3. Any chance for a fix soon? I would very much love to get back pumping out gorgeous planets for my solar systems.

    Cheers!

    Hi there!

I just re-downloaded your asset and it is in working order now.

    Thanks!

Ps: It is so nice to see the tone of new detail and lava textures.

    Keep up the great work!!

Any news on a mobile version or if it can work in VR?

Hi, would it be possible to "prerender" the outputs of the shader to improve performance? We're happily using the asset to generate a single planet for the background of our main menu, but we don't want it to be a bottleneck on mobile performance.

    Hi, dose this asset...
    Q1: work in unity 2019 ?
Q2: have any major problem when not using Substance ?
Q3: use traditional Unity light ?
    ----------
I must say that Im using Star gen with no problem in Unity 2019.3 is there any possible interest or will for Neutron star like with magnetic fields upgrade asset?

I love this! It's an amazingly powerful tool. I have a problem, though. Some combinations of a light liquid and a light terrain color results emissive colors. Does someone have a workaround?

Can I use this to generate gas giants? What about ringed planets?
