    Pixel Adventure Kit is a pack of over 1000 colorful, old-school sprites.

    Nice Kit but I think the title is misleading. Its more Jump & Run instead of Adventure?!

    Thank you. I suppose I didn't think the name through enough, but I think the screenshots and demo should be informative enough to show you what the pack is really about.

    Hi @Archanor!, I think this very well done pack, BUT I think the Lizard need at least 3 or 4 attack animation, ledge hang/climb animation, climbing stairs animation, rolling animation.
    And the pack need more characters at least 5 or maybe 6(with actual animation of the Lizard + attack animation, ledge hang/climb animation, climbing stairs animation, rolling animation ).

    If you update with these features then you'll have me as client :).

    by the way, this may be one of the Lizard attacks(spit something):

    There's an animation where he moves his mouth which can be used for a lot of things, including talking, breathing fire, eating etc. There is also one where he has his mouth open while mid-air, if I recall correctly. I'll look into creating additional animations, though I imagined people would like to create their own unique characters.

    I definitely like to expand on this pack further, and possibly even a follow-up pack if there's enough purchases and feedback.

    Also, when you say climbing stairs, are you referring to climbing ladders? If you have some ideas for enemies, I'm all ears. I'm thinking of sticking with some medieval type of enemies.

    As enemies maybe: alien, zombie, caveman, zombie dinosaur(for boss), mutant.

    I'm glad you like it, and thanks for asking. I've been in the middle of finishing off two new assets, and I've only just started to work a little on it.

    I've created a roll (kind of Samus-rolling animation) and ladder climbing animation so far. I'll also give the ledge hang/climb animations a shot.

    If there's any other animations you want, let me know. I also appreciate if you can describe them a bit more, as it's hard to know exactly what you are looking for. (For example "attack" animation, what kind of attack?)

    I'm thinking like a still-image of a kick / punch or maybe even a tail "whip"?

    I also want to add more enemies, possibly some that are similar to the knight / medieval theme, like archers, swordsmen or spear-throwers, perhaps a really beefy knight, suitable for boss fights. Other smaller random enemies like zombies, goblins, bats etc. are pretty generic and could also fit in.

    But, hmmm.. A little unsure about the zombie dinosaur boss :D

    Edit: I want to ensure that the new animations and content I'm making for the kit works the way you want, so I'm looking for someone to test it and give some feedback. Send me an e-mail if you're willing to help out.

    Here's the spritesheet for a couple of new animations, including a small animation sample.

    Row 1 - Ladder climb
    Row 2 - Roll animation (He turns into a ball)
    Row 3 - Ledge climb, ledge climb look back
    Row 4 - Tail whip attack

    These will be added for free in the pack. Let me know what you think of them, and if you have ideas for more.

    I've also been working on a bigger type of knight, which could be turned into a boss type of enemy. If you have suggestions for attacks and animations, I appreciate that. At the moment I'm thinking of a spear throw and a charge attack.

    I'll also be experimenting on the other enemy types which you requested earlier and see how that goes :)

    A small update with some enemy walkcycles :)

    Might do some various attack animations such as a spider pounce, a skeleton "throw bone", perhaps a zombie bite.

    Monster update has been submitted to the Asset Store, and I hope it'll be available next week.

    I did a recount of what I thought was 800 sprites, and it seems to just go over 1000 individual sprites with the new enemy sprites!

    New stuff:
    • Over 1000 sprites
    • 51 new sprites
    • New player character animations
      • Ladder climb
      • Roll (Sort of like Samus from Metroid)
      • Ledgegrab (Still image)
      • Ledgegrab Looking out from edge (Still image)
      • Tailwhip Attack
    • 3 new enemy sprites
      • Skeleton (Walk, ThrowBone)
      • Spider (Walk, Jump, HangFromCeiling)
      • Zombie (Walk, BiteAttack)
      • Enemies also have "gib" sprites for when they die
    • 5 environmental particle systems for extra depth
      • Rain
      • Snow
      • Watersplash (for waterfalls)
      • FireSmoke
      • FireEmbers
    As always, I appreciate feedback and questions. I may also do requests that I think are valuable additions for the majority of the purchasers of the pack. (I love to hear ideas anyway though! :) )

    Hey, thanks for buying. There's are no current plans for expansions, but it depends on sales, feedback and ideas from users.

    At the moment it's not selling all that well, but I'm looking to improve it if you think the kit is lacking anything!

    When it comes to tiles for ground and items you got plenty that are high quality. A couple things that might be nice additions is more background sprites and props. Example are windows for the castle, random pictures, different variance of the big backgrounds. Possibly random trees or plants for the outdoor areas. You got a good collection of traps too. One thing that might be nice to add are new monsters. Example would be skeleton fish, evil plants, ghosts, and some types of flying monsters. Maybe bats with simple wing animations. Other than those I can't really think of anything else that could be added. I actually am surprised that the kit is not doing well it is very good quality and has a lot to offer.

    Those are some good ideas. I think additional monsters especially would be great for the kit. Any specific types of particle effects?

    I might give it a try when I'm done with my current projects.

    Hey sorry for the delayed response, but here it is. For particle effects I was thinking possible old style fireworks. Something you would see when you beat a stage or level. Also for the desert level possibly a small dust cloud. The dust cloud could also be recolored to match a cloud of snow coming off the ground. Maybe something like a shine that happens when you collect treasure or a hurt effect for the player and enemies. Example be fluttering hearts or something of that kind.

    Those are the ones that came to my head. I hope this helps out for ideas.

    Nice asset, I hope you got more sales and improvements on this asset. I would like to see better block animations like in mario instead of flashing. When I complete my game, I'll reach you. Don't give up on this asset ;)
