    Mouse Side Buttons

TL;DR: If you're like me, the muscle memory tied to using the side mouse buttons for folder navigation is strong. So strong, in fact, that I wrote this plugin to add that missing functionality to Unity.

Get it here: Itch.io | Asset Store (coming soon)

    Overview:
Mouse Side Buttons (MSB) lets you use the “backward” and “forward” side buttons on a mouse to navigate through the Project Window, just like in a web browser or file explorer. After installation, the side buttons function as:
    • Back Button (M3) goes back through the history
    • Forward Button (M4) goes forward
Simply start navigating through directories and use the side buttons to easily move back and
    forth through your saved history.

    Demo:

    Highlights:
    • History saved between editor sessions
    • Configurable history size (default last 20)
    • Configurable "current directory" color

Compatibility: MSB supports Unity versions 2022.2 and later, coinciding with Unity's introduction of mouse side button shortcut functionality. Compatibility testing with earlier versions is in progress, and updates will be released if testing is successful.

Let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions or bugs to report, etc.

This is my first (released) Unity plugin, so please be gentle!
