We agree with you on facial hair, this is actually one of the most common feature requests that we get - and you can hopefully expect to see something like this very soon!

In terms of ethnicity templates, it looks like we also have a request in our system for something similar to what you're asking for and we'll add on everyone's suggestions. We tend to avoid including these kinds of things because we want to be the paintbrush - not the artist. We don't want to get too involved in guiding you and we don't want to clutter up the creative process. Since this seems to be something many of you are interested in however, I'll make sure that we look into creating ethnicity templates in the vanilla model or as add on packs!

    Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Regarding nipples and genitalia. My strong preference is against them. So, if you offer this feature, please don't make it mandatory, but optional on specially purchased models only. Thank you.

Not to worry, if we did add something like this, I don't believe that it would be standard - rather, an add on package.

I'll submit the request to add nipples / and or genitalia for those of you interested in seeing something like this added in the form of a separate package.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I wonder if genitalia would pass the review of asset store staff or if something like this would be against any of their rules :D

If so, such content could always be sold on the MCS store.

BTW, I notice the new models aren't on the MCS store yet, either. I wonder why they always wait till the items are on the Unity store before they add them to the MCS store. Seems like it should be the other way around, to me.

If they had the new models on the MCS store, I could at least look them over. Right now, there's nothing but the promo pics.

Ehh, if Morph3D is going to provide genitals, can we also get some muslim headscarves? How about a women's business suit? Not all women in games are pornstars, believe it or not... I realize there's nothing in the DAZ library but bimbowear and strappy catsuits, but hey if doods get to ask for morphing labia on a low-res model, maybe some effort to include you know, the 3 billion women around the world who just happen to wear clothes too...?

I am totally with you on this. And not every man, myself included, is in favor of these porn star characters and their outfits. We have a strict standard of modestly dressed female characters in our games. Thanks for standing up and pointing out the obvious.

This is why I hope to include more realistic characters in my game in the future. And not only the women clothing, but also the armor for both male and females. I mean... unprotected tummies when in battle? Come on.....

You feel bad about the tummies? I always want to throw a tantrum when I see all those sexualized breastplates...
It should NEVER look like this for an immersive game:

    female_bp.jpeg

I could really smack my head against a wall when I see this stuff in games. This is like

I would not have a problem if they provide a package that adds genitals to the male/female characters. I have no use for it myself, but you have to realize that there are people who want to create pornographic games and for them it would be very useful. I absolutely don't think that they should make it a priority, because there are way to many other things I feel are way more important(more outfits, facial/body morphs, facial hair etc).
And if it's optional I don't see why it would be a problem to you and others. If you don't want your characters to have genitalia, then don't buy the package or don't use it if it's free.
Don't see this as me attacking you or your opinion, just saying what I think about it, I also agree that the gaming industry could do with less sexualized characters.

Edit: What is wrong with that first picture of armor? I don't have knowledge about it, but that one actually doesn't look to bad for armor. Or is it the shape of the breasts being so present in it?

There is a reason why they forged breastplates in one "flat" piece back then. If you change its structure like that the whole thing will become very vulnerable and if you look closely you can see how there is already a weak structure around the breasts.

Most people these days really think they had such armor but that's only because some guys thought their movies and games need more "tits" so they created this crap.

This is one of my biggest peeves when looking at the Daz3D store. So many female outfits are too skimpy. There's nothing wrong with this in certain situation, but if a warrior is going to go out and fight with bladed weapons, there's no way they'll be wearing armor with so much of their body exposed. I definitely don't want that in my game.

Re-read what I wrote, and carefully this time. I said "can we ALSO get…"

Maybe if you weren't tripping over yourself to accuse me of something I never said, you would read more accurately..

+1 on more... realistic female clothing. I don't really get the big deal about genitalia, though and I'd say nipples don't qualify as such. Either way, I mostly hope that there will be a good pipeline for getting in custom outfits and assets. That way, this can be used as a base character system for all those games needing other or more outfits than those offered by Morph3D. That way, everybody can create clothing and bodily appendages as they personally see fit.

Well, I don't like to get in the way of people's artistic sensibilities. Decorative stuff is fine. Hell, I loved seeing the maidens dressed in chainmail bikinis at various Ren Festivals. However, if someone is actually going to fight with real weapons, there's no way they'd be wearing that stuff. I think that a lot of the armor on the Daz3D site (and even the Morph3D stuff) is this skimpy armor that just isn't practical.

I'd love to see more casual clothing. As it stands, it's mostly just "themes", but not much to choose from for a modern, casual setting with more than 1-2 unique characters. Shorts/summer clothes (male and female), summer dresses, swimwear, etc would be really helpful :)

Also, wanted to add that it is great that the Morph3D folks are watching this thread now. Personally, I feel a lot more hopeful for this product's future.

Apparently I wasn't careful enough with my post, because I definitively wasn't trying to accuse you of anything. To me your message came across like a rant and that you were trying to shame people who want genitalia/nudity in games. Guess it turns out I was wrong.
With English not being my first language, and this being forum posts without facial expressions/emotion/voice to judge things by, it can be easy for me to misinterpret things.

I also apologize for being rude. Sometimes as one of the few women in the room it feels like we get singled out as "prudes" or "anti-sex", when what we keep asking for is a spacesuit for the female character too.

and bimbo wear for the men. :D

The tummy was just a small example :D
I do agree with you, though. The female armor should NEVER look like that. I'd plea for more realistic armor anyway. Not those "aesthetically" nice armors, but useful armors instead. And armors that show some thought, like protecting vulnerable parts of the body (tummies, torsos, armpits, neck, to name a few).

Additionally, on the whole I'd like to see outfits and armor that are more.... decent, more like what women would/have/are wearing. I hope I can achieve that in my game in the future :)

Couldn't help but LOL at that one. So fitting!

Man want sexy women in the game? I think they're often missing the point that sexy doesn't necessarily mean nude. A good outfit showing just a tidbit can be far more sexier than an outfit where the boobs almost fall out from bending over. And yes "THEY" is anyone who picks up the glove (is that the English expression? Dutch here myself, so I'm not sure :D )

Oh, yes!! Pretty please! I'd like that! Especially if they can make it look sexy like Sam Heughan does it in the TV hitshow Outlander!

Well it is extremely unlikely to happen, so… no worries there.

like, is this ^ for real? This mannequin doesn't even HAVE genitals, but they are so scared we might see a male thigh they have to paint a giant square this onto the texture, halfway down the leg??? I don't think it is women who are bothered by nudity….

These figures are attractive but they already have baggage….

I had to look up Sam Heughan…. and now I've forgotten what I was talking about… LOL

Exactly! nudity doesn't mean sexy, it can be but often in games it just isn't. take a look at [insert any game with skimpy outfits] and you'll see that it just isn't sexy at all. Something being sexy or not depends on a lot more than just an outfit.
    Also: Dutchies unite!:D

I think that model is just very insecure about not having genitalia, therefore he feels the need to cover himself up in the hopes no one finds out.:p

High five on all accounts :D
The question is, I think, when we as game designers bring in characters we regard as sexy, but not (so) nude, would that turn off players? Or would it be a revolution in the game world and would gamers on-mass start playing the games that have less nude and actually sexy characters? I think that could/would be a challenge. Is it a challenge game designers dare to accept?

I don't think it would really turn off players if you would include less nudity. It would also depend on what game you're making. GTA for example wants things to be realistic, so they need to have characters that are representative of real life regardless of how they are dressed. Whereas with the typical eastern mmorpg's you have a completely fictional world where you might get away with revealing clothing more because it isn't based on anything real-life.

One franchise that has successfully turned things around is Tomb Raider. Lara Croft used to be one of the biggest sex symbols in gaming as far as I'm aware. With the reboot they have turned her more into something that better represents an actual person/woman. I personally think doing something like that where they turn her into something more relatable has been a really good move.

If anyone is taking votes here put me down for add-ons for both gen morphs and nipple/breast morphs, with an extra helping of ALL clothing styles. I'm thinking of a 'Real Sims/VR Poser' type environment with the emphasis on the real. With clothing, if you can buy it off the shelf, online or can have it made for you for a price then I want that as an option. The full spectrum from totally revealing to totally protective. From beach wear to reactor repair. And sexy time too. Big secret: no matter how much clothing you wear you're still nude underneath ;) . We leave modesty (or lack thereof) to the user.

So add-on's for both morph sets would get my vote, along with the clothing creation toolkits. Being "complete" is the focus of my project and not having them is a bit of a speed bump for me. We give up to 50% of the poly budget to the characters, because that's where we're focusing on, being more about interaction than environmental action.

One other option is just to sell the gen morphs through other outlets. Morph3D has its own store, and it could be sold through any of the other Daz3D compatible outlets. No need to worry about upsetting the Unity store rules when you have your own store on your own website, and if anyone's project really needs it (like mine) then you popping over to get from there would not be a problem (other than the additional not-one-stop accounting for all parties).

On a side note, how hard would it be to provide the toolkit to make the gen morphs ourselves, or of anything else (nano-bio enhancements anyone?) If you can already get bull and reptilian can octopoids like Davey Jones be far behind ?

On ethnic morphs, maybe what you need is a macro morph weighting layer, where you can define some idea morph setting as the group prototype (along with what base morphs to ignore). The base morphs would then be the weighted sum of the macro morphs. You could create that functionality in another class you use to access all the morphs to make the macro's first class citizens equal to the base morphs. Or we can petition the MCS team to include similar functionality in their system. The nice thing about the macro system idea is for a whole life simulator you could do genetic mixing where a kid is a blend of the parents.

    *shrug*

I'm thinking about doing something like this in my code. This way I can click a button in the inspector and randomly generate an NPC based on a set of parameters. Would be nice if there was something like this already there, but I think this will be good for me in the long run, since my next project will allow for the player to see faces clearly compared to my current game. At this point, I feel like they really need to get facial hair in the game....

Is there a possibility to add female versions of the Outpost Mercenary and the Space Marine from the Male Sci-fi bundle?

This one for the Outpost merc would be awesome: http://www.daz3d.com/xtech-bundle-for-genesis-2-female-s
I didn't find any for the Space Marine.

I think it is for many games desirable to have both female and male sets of the outfits (where ofcourse some differences aren't a problem) to be able to create equipable clothing in-game which all character genders can equip. Especially for the MCS as many use it as a runtime customizable system.

    Hello,

It's been a very time consuming process moving Daz assets over to the Morph asset store, so this kind of content (i.e. Muslim headscarves and women's business suits) is definitely something to expect soon. Morph 3D is still fairly new in comparison to our parent company (Daz) and replicating even a portion of the variety of content that they offer is a very time consuming process. We apologize for not having a wide array of representation in our assets yet and ask for your patience. We are hard at work and hope to have something like this available soon.

In regards to your comment that the Daz library contains "nothing but bimbowear and strappy catsuits" - I respectfully and strongly disagree with your opinion. We work with and publish content in collaboration with thousands of artists who represent a wide variety of cultures and beliefs. We don't offer genitals in our base products (largely in part) to keep the focus on our character system and our assets. We want our product to be appropriate for everyone to use in any setting.

While I can't say that we are never going to release nipple / genital packages - it will not be something that is included with the base character (if ever released at all). I hope this puts you at ease in terms of our intentions.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I have to be brutally honest and disagree. While not all of the content is like that, most of the content is inappropriate female dress. But, of course, you would have to define inappropriate and your definition may be different than someone else's. But if we use the only objective moral standard for comparison then we would have to conclude it is mostly inappropriate.

@Razzle_Dazzle3D Is there any way to have outfits work for either male or female? I really would like to get this midnight raider(?) outfit for one of my female characters. When I put it on her character, it never fits to the body. Even if some guys wear a dress that's fine. It would be cool to have a guy dressed in drag in my game. Is there an easy way to do this?

    Hey there,

Agreed! There's nothing wrong with lady's dressed in guys clothes or guy's dressed in lady clothes.

From my understanding - off the top of my head, this would be difficult to produce at the current moment (and I totally could be wrong, I'll ask around). I believe that specific types of clothing are rigged to the specific character type and that's why you're having difficulties swapping outfits around. I will make sure to submit a request to the design team though! Hopefully with the combined release of the Artist Toolkit and the Daz asset integration we'll be able to offer what you're after very soon!

For the time being, do you have specific assets in mind that you would like to see be offered for both genders?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Thanks for the fast reply. Off the top of my head it would be the Midnight Rogue outfit. I like that swashbuckler look and it would be pretty cool on my main character. I had her running around in it at one point, but it doesn't fit well on the character so after some time I just went back to a female specific outfit.

No problem! I'll pass that along,

Hopefully very soon we'll have 1.5 released, Artist Toolkit released, and start moving Daz assets over to Morph - that should keep everyone happy and busy until 2.0 is released!

    Thanks,

That is not underwear, that is a large black tattoo. If I needed to show underwear for some reason I would buy or make underwear appropriate to the genre. I wouldn't decide to make the only base texture unusable by blackening in the body texture where 21st century anachronistic underwear might cover. In fact that is very strange. It is not even normal mapped, so it must be either a weird censorship blackout or a very poor texture.

Sorry, that just wasn't the answer or the attitude I'm looking for. I'll pass on your products. Turns out they are too limited for me.

I'm not actually following this exchange- is there some confusion over the texture? The base texture has no black underwear "censorship"- it's ken dolled, so to speak, but not censored.

I'd love to see the following Gen 3 assets:
Cyber Soldier for Gen 3 Male (if possible for female as well)
Rough Rider for Gen 3 Male
Rough Rider for Gen 3 Female
Explorer Suit for Gen 3 Male
H&C Medical Scrubs Set for Genesis 3 Male(s) (also for female)
Wall Ranger Outfit for Genesis 3 Female(s)
    Renegade for Genesis 3 Male(s)

I also saw this on the daz store:
    Genesis 3 Cross-Figure Resource Kit
If I understand correctly this would let you use clothes on both male and female characters. Would be great if this could also be available for Morph3d

Besides the above I would like to see some ethnic textures and facial hair as many others have also requested. Also I would be happy if there were some stuff like scars / tattoo's (or for example the Shadow Man's face) to add to a character to make them even more unique. And last I would be happy if there was blood / bruises etc that we can add during runtime when the character is hurt.

Will Non-Daz Originals also be transferred in a later stadium?

It would be nice to have morphs and skin textures suitable for all human creeds. There are far too few multi-ethnic options. I would also like to add my name to those asking for proper naked uncensored textures so we can add our own choices of under garments.

If people want nipple morphs, I'll add my name to that too - for most clothing you'd want smooth, but I could see circumstances where having nipples would be great. We're also not just talking about games here, so people are using unity for other things; medical and teaching included. Also separate genital packs/models; I'll add my name to these too for a fully rounded package suitable for everyone.

Also modest clothing for males and females is necessary, and should be included in every clothing pack. Modest and non-modest versions.

After a long silence, it's really good to see everything coming alive again. Happy days.

I'm starting to think I'm the only person here who actually owns the base models. That isn't a criticism- just an amusing observation.

You can choose whatever skin colour you want through the material editor- just make new materials for the new skin colors you want and change the "color" value to suit your need. The previous comments were not about colour, but rather mostly about ethnic hair options and such. There are also options for just about everything I could think of to modify a character to simulate racial differences (eye slant, cheekbones, limb length, nose types, etc...)- presets would be nice, but it's not difficult to make your own prefabs for the various racial types and use those as starting points for characters that fall in that category.

The "censored texture" was for the preview image they use on their website- the actual character textures are not censored.

I'm sure quite a few of us have the base models, free and paid. What you're seeing is some input from new people curious about MCS because of the sale.

Speaking of the sale, the current sale on the full base models (M & F) is by far the best sale there has ever been, and everyone who is interested should take advantage! :)

As for pre-made racial faces or simply more pre-made face options ... yes, you can use the morphs to make pretty much any face you desire, including alien faces. But not everyone using MCS is an artist, so it's easy to imagine people buying a face pack, especially if it is accompanied with different textures (as was done with the recent voodoo sets).

What's most notably missing, to me, is the lack of facial hair and afro hair styles. Simple modesty wear for use during character customization would be a plus, and it would be nice to see that added to the base model packs.

While I know there have been some bumps in the road in the development of MCS, on the whole I've been very satisfied with my purchases, and I look forward to more. :)

I do own the base models and disagree that simply changing the color and applying facial morphs changes the ethnicity. Just take a look at the lip color when changing to a very dark skin.. it just doesn't look realistic at all. This could probably be done using photoshop but I'm not that experienced with it and would rather buy different textures if they were available.

    Jup!

I didn't notice there was a texture there. Thanks for pointing it out!

IMO, the highly detailed face / body textures are one of the strengths of the MCS product line. If we can get a few more of these ... great!

After realizing there was a African texture in the Voodoo pack (Thanks hopeful!) (@Morph3d: you guys should put it in the description on your site as well) I had a reason to buy the asset and here you can see the differences:

Both a standard Male model. One with a colored standard texture, the other with the texture provided in the ShadowMan asset. No Morphs used yet. So nope.. just changing a color on the texture doesn't work for me.

Very happy to see the developers have returned to comment in this thread. With the (hopefully very soon) release of the content creation tools, I'm hoping a flood of user created content will organically fill some of the needs and requests presented in this thread. Modern clothing especially should start appearing rather quickly once more artists can contribute with the tools. What I'm specifically interested in hearing is if the goal of allowing community created content for sale is intact. Furthermore, I'm very very curious to get some elaboration on how this will work with licensing and if any profit share is required.

As I understood it, the assumption was that most user content would be new clothing and props. But what about textures and shaders? For example, if I've already created texture re-skins for the basic character (such as ethnic variation, blemishes, tattoos, etc) can I release these on the asset store?
