[Released] Minicar Race Creator

    Hi @TargetSoundFx,

    the Minicar Race Creator looks nice. I have three suggestions:

    1st: Is the amount of "players" (cars) adjustable (want to let start about 10 cars or more, I think that's more funny)?
    2nd: Could you integrate a multiplayer system, that allows you to play with more than one (!) real player? Not per splitscreen but every player with it's own device. In this case: they should support crossplay (mobile, mac, pc).
    3rd: Could you create a leaderboard with online connections to google play and apple game center?

    This could make the game more funny and replayable.

    If you have the same problem add in script CountdownTimer.cs Line 151 add:
    PhotonNetwork.CurrentRoom != null &&

    I'll try to update the documentation in a few days.

    Hi, bought the asset, tried to create new empty 3D Project and import the asset. Get the following errors in console:

    Hi,
    I think I have a problem. When a player's car and an AI car fall and regenerate at the same spawning point, there will be a endless loop. It seems that both cars are waiting for respawn.

    Please send me an email to describe me how to reproduce that case. Please send me pictures and a step by step to help me reproduce the case.
    By default If 2 cars must respawned on the same checkpoint there is a loop to respawn them one by one.

    Hello developers!!! Can you add nitro function? And also to spawn it on the random places on the map. Because people can restore it! Adding traps on the map will be advantage! Have a nice day

    Thank you for your feedback. For the moment there is no plan for adding those features but I add it to the list of features that can added to the asset.

    Hello, on Unity 2020.2.f1, when I import from a empty new project, in the MCR_Lobby scene, "Text" gameobjects have almost all a missing script, could you tell me the name of the one that should be present ?

    I got that too:

    There are inconsistent line endings in the 'Assets/MCR Creator/Assets/Scripts/Race/WaypointCircuit.cs' script. Some are Mac OS X (UNIX) and some are Windows.
    This might lead to incorrect line numbers in stacktraces and compiler errors. Many text editors can fix this using Convert Line Endings menu commands.

    There are inconsistent line endings in the 'Assets/MCR Creator/Assets/Scripts/Other/AboutMinicar.cs' script. Some are Mac OS X (UNIX) and some are Windows.
    This might lead to incorrect line numbers in stacktraces and compiler errors. Many text editors can fix this using Convert Line Endings menu commands.

    Not really problematic, but maybe correcting from the source package should be better.

    Other thing, I ve done a 3DS Maxscript to add automatic borders for the PathCreator roads exported with FBX_Exporter package of Unity, because MCR_Creator and PathCreator are really nice together. I can send it to you if you want include that in your package, more easy to do races in a couple of minutes. Original problem with PathCreator was the missing borders that prevent you to fall.

    Hi,
    After following the process described in the documentation named MCR Online Multiplayer.pdf you shouldn't have any missing script in the MCR_Lobby scene.
    (Project Tab: Assets -> MCR -> Assets -> Documentation -> MCR Online Multiplayer.pdf)

    Hello developers! I would to ask is it possible to change car physics easy in the game! Also why car wheels are changed position see this upload_2021-4-29_23-4-12.png
    It must be front left ???
    Also do you plan to change car controller soon?;)
    everything else is perfect in this asset!!!

    What is the best way to ignore other car collision? I cleared the oncollision function but they can still hit eachother. Also when I disable the colliders

    Hi, Sorry but the two systems are very different.
    Minicar Race creator is not designed to add power up system like you have in Airplane Race Creator.

    The asset is not focus on multiplayer but have a look to the pdf included in the asset documentation folder named:
    MCR Online Multiplayer.pdf
    (Project folder -> Assets -> MCR Creator -> Documentation -> MCR Online Multiplayer.pdf)

    hello, if I have multiplayer activated and I play a solo game, the AI players wont move at all, any solution to that? thanks

    Hi,
    I tested this morning and it works for me.
    I created:
    -A Unity 3D Empty project in Unity 2020.3.20.
    -Import Minicar Race Creator
    -Follow instruction included in pdf named MCR Online Multiplayer.pdf

    AI cars in arcade solo mode moved in my project.

    Could you try doing the same process to check if it works for you?

    It's working again! hehe, one more question, I tried creating a room in a Windows build and it's not visible in a Mac build, is the asset cross platform compatible for multiplayer? or how can I make it work?

    Hi! recently bought this. It's a great asset and nicely documented. I have scoured through the documentation and code but could not figure out how to change the ai cars that spawn. Where can I swap the ai cars for some custom ai cars?

    nevermind, I figured it out. I had assumed the car lists in the menu scene only change the human players cars, but after changing the other entries in the same lists (entries for 'player 2 - 8') it does indeed affect the ai spawned cars.

    I'm sorry but I have no longer a Mac to test.
    I don't remember there is a difference between Mac and PC but I can't guarantee it.
    For info: Currently I'm only able to make test on PC.

    When I increase the CarRotationSpeed value, it makes the cars susceptible to random respawns while still on the track. Also happens if I affect the cars RigidBody mass. Any idea why affecting these values trips the respawn detection @TargetSoundFx?
    I should add that this is with a custom car model. It does not happen with the pack out of the box. But I can't understand why my car model (which has no collision of its own) would cause the respawn problem.

    Check if you've removed all the colliders on your custom car models.
    Don't scale the car.
    The car automatically respawns if a collider is inside the CheckCarOnHisBack collider(picture)

    An update for anybody else that may come across problems with seemingly random respawns.
    @TargetSoundFx promptly pointed me in the direction as to what was the cause in my project;
    If the 'CarOnHisBack' collider on the car collides with a custom object that you've added (like a powerup pickup in my case) it will trigger the collider and start the respawn countdown - respawning the car after a couple of seconds.
    In my case, adding a 'Powerup' tag to the powerup object and having the CheckCarOnHisBack script ignore objects using the 'Powerup' tag seems to solve the issue.

    Hi everyone, I was wondering about the Enemy AI cars, are they trained with machine learning or is it just unity's system NavMeshAgent plus some extra code to handle differentt situations?

    AI is neither managed by Unity NavMeshAgent system nor trained by machine learning.
    AI cars follow a path that you can modify.

    I've run into a bug regarding respawning. This is a custom track that is a simple loop. most of the time the cars respawn fine, but occasionally the car will never respawn and this error message pops up. any idea on why this is happening? respawnBug.jpg

    Hi,
    I don't know the reason of the problem.
    In the console tab select the error message to show which script is creating the problem. Send me an e-mail with this information.

    I think I fixed it. It seems to be because one of the points in the track path was not an exact number (01/02/03) I had added a point between two points and decided to call it "06.5" instead of renaming all the others, which seems to have been the cause of the issue. I replaced the track points and generated a new path. It is now working fine! Thanks!

    Finally released my game I worked for over a year, using your asset as the base. It took so long in production because I spent more time p̶l̶a̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ testing than working. The challenging part was hooking it up to a track generator so I can make Championship cups that refresh courses daily.

    Anyway, thank you for the asset. :)
