i am using unity 5.6

 

MCR Creator is not compatible with Unity 5.6.
You need to use Unity 2017.2 or higher

Multiplayer Online is not available.

For the moment Minicar Game Creator includes a 2 players local split screen (2P + 2CPU).

Are you planning on multiplayer? I was waiting for an asset like that for a long time as I want to make a game with little cars.

 

Yes we plan to add an online multiplayer but we have no date for this update .

@TargetSoundFx Thanks for getting back to me. I ended up purchasing the asset and am liking it so far. I have a couple of questions though if you don't mind:

1. Is there any way to have the cars grip change depending upon the surface they are on. I tried using a physics material but that did not seem to work and I could not find any setting related to grip. Is this possible with the controller you use?
2. What would be the best way to increase the maximum number of cars in a race (I am trying to get 8 cars working. 1 player and 7 AI). It looks like the asset is designed to have 4 cars maximum but maybe this is just the demo?

1- For the moment, there is no grip change depending the surface.

2- Minicar Game Creator is design for 1/2 players and 3/2 AI so it is not possible to add more than 4 cars in a race.

I add your suggestions to the list of features that we could add for future updates .

 

OK thanks. I almost have 8 cars working but if you could add the grip feature then that would be awesome. Even just a grip value on the car controller script would do.

 

Ok I am going to check if I could create a grip value. It could take a couple of days

 

Much appreciated. If you like I can send you the changes I have made to allow more cars when I have finished if you wanted to add that into the asset. Also it may be worth moving all the code into namespaces to prevent clashes with other assets. Keep up the good work.

Looks great. I am also very interested in using it in a multiplayer mode with photon. Could the system be used for any type of racing game for instants a boat racing game. But have to go through specific way points.

 

If you want to create a boat racing game you probably need to modify quite a lot the car Controller to have a boat feeling.
Minicar Game Creator use a path system to control the number of lap, the respawn system, car position on track.

 

Thanks. Not worried about the controller, but more wondering if the lap and aiwaypoint system would still work.

I've noticed that people have asked if Online Multiplayer is coming and I too am looking forward to seeing it
Is it possible to have up to 4 player split screen local multiplayer?? I think a few people might like that option too.

We have added the community suggestions to the road map but I couldn’t give you a date for these features.
For the moment, we are working on a championship mode.

It will not be possible to create a realistic RC car simulation with Minicar Race Creator.
Minicar Race Creator is made to create arcade game like Fun Tracks Ignition or Micro machine style games.

 

Hi! I really like your asset!, Do you have planned to add some pickup items like turbo powerups, guns?
In that case for me it would be an instant purchase, and I am sure it is a great additional for what the market in general looks for, so the game does not become repetitive.

For the moment, local 2 players split-screen is supported.
It is possible to test this feature in the demo you could find in the asset store page : (PC or Mac)

I seem to be getting this error in 2018.1
Assets/MCR Creator/Assets/Scripts/Menu/MainMenuEditor.cs(362,38): error CS0143: The class `UnityEngine.Sprite' has no constructors defined

 

Hi Pixelsteam,

Open the script MainMenuEditor.cs and change line 362 and 363.
You need to replace new Sprite() with null
The new lines need to be :

Code (CSharp):

1. myScript.TableSpriteList.Insert(0,null);
2. myScript.TableBackgroundSpriteList.Insert(0,null);

For the moment, we do not support 2018.1 because this version is in beta. The last version we have tested is 2017.3

Hi looks very nice; can we easily add skidmarks and some effects ? I mean are they easily accessible thru api ?
Is it easy to import custom models ?

If it is not a problem for you to code, you could probably quite easily add skidmarks and other car effects using the car controller script.

 

I just have bought your Minicar Race + Environment pack : Fantastic !!!

Your documentation is perfect because we can easily follow your tutos and all is working fine.
I could add other cars without any problems and create my first race (-> your tuto) very quickly.

I'm not a coder and it would be great if you could add skidmarks and so on...
Your package has to be complete for the pleasure of non-coders. Don't forget, if we buy complete project it's because we can't code and people like you are very important for us.
