    Hi,
    First time posting here.
I'm working on a polygon style medieval characters pack - soldiers and civilians.
I'm planning on creating around 50 unique characters, both male and female, all sharing the same skeleton, and a 512x512 flat color texture.
The characters will be mixamo and mechanim ready, but with no animations included.
So far this is what I've done:

Any comments and suggestions are more than welcome and appreciated!

Quality models - really like this clean style.
Might consider adding fingers. I'd bet you'll get more requests for that - than if it had fingers - requesting for mitten hands, once released.

    Wazzup with these odd polys/triangles?

Hi @S4G4N, thanks! I'm really glad you like them.
Hi @theANMATOR2b, Thanks! Good idea with the fingers. Since all the characters will use the same hand geometry it won't be hard to change the five fingers hands to mitten hands later if somebody needs that.
With those triangles I tried to change the silhouette a bit, but yeah they look odd right now. I see what I can do to make them look better.

    Hi PolytopeStudio!

I really like this low poly style and we have talked about moving from synty to it...

    However...

We really need more characters before attempting something like that.

    Wishlist

Head Pack - Right now the characters all look like a variation of a single guy.. a cowoker that sits in the cube next to me.
Villagers - Really need villagers to talk to..
Clergy - The church played a big role in medieval life and is very under-represented
Royalty - Kings and Queen and Guilotines taking lives tonight...
Females - Alas, no female characters in the pack

    Thanks!
    :)
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
I'm glad you like this style.
More characters will come - in fact ~90% of the content that we will publish will be characters, and for sure there will be peasants, monks and priests, and also some females-soldiers and civilians. And a lot others. And at some point some creatures as well.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the Head Pack - because IMO their heads look pretty different. :) heads.jpg

    Thanks,
    Vio

I switched to low poly from realistic for my hobby game because of my computer power but I am falling in love with this style. I am writing my rpg game for my newborn daughter to play so it has a female main character/hero.

Please create a female main character/hero!!! and wizards/witches. Can never have enough of them.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I think your models are excellent and your asset structure is one that every asset developer should strive for. It is nice to see a well developed folder structure. Five stars by the way for both assets.

    Hi Keith,
Thanks for these kind words and for the ratings and awesome review.

I love this style too and can't have enough working on the characters.:) The "to do" list exceeds 100 characters and these are only humans/non-fantasy. :)

There will be an alchemist that could be used as a wizard too, and for sure there will be some witches/hags. A proper wizard will be published in a separate fantasy pack.

There will be some female armors as well, probably in the next pack.
    Cheers,
    Vio

We've tested the Dinamic Bone script applied on one of the characters from the Soldiers Pack:

It's just a quick test, nothing fancy, just to see what needs to be optimize on the skeleton/ geometry

    Awesome looking results
With the right animations these low poly assets just really have such realism added

I should have said that the free character is submitted already.
I also should have said that the character is a peasant, and it looks like this:
    PT_Medieval_Lowpoly_Peasant_LargeImage.png
Hopefully it can work with your project PT_Medieval_Peasant_weapons_props.png PT_Medieval_Peasant_environment.png

Now it all depends on AS curators. :)

The pack is submitted, and is waiting for review, that's why I said that it depends on AS curators. :) It can take up to 3 weeks in my experience to go online.
The character is rigged and skinned, and is compatible with most of mixamo's animations. but the pack does not include any animations.

    Hi,
Our modular armors pack is finally submitted to UAS.

The pack has 5 modular armor sets, each with 3 tiers, plus a modular start armor and some props, weapons and modular interior assets.

Looks to me that it will, since the parts will be loose and interchangeable as far as I understand, but will wait for @PolytopeStudio to rather clarify. As far as I know the sets comes split into several separate parts

For this style I do think these are the best on the AS

If you're asking if you can equip parts of these armors on the characters from the previous characters pack, the answer is unfortunately no. This pack is modular while the characters pack contains unique non-modular characters. The previous character pack was created more as an Npc pack while this is a heroes pack. Both packs share the same skeleton so they can share animations, though. If you want to see some characters from the previous pack built as a modular armor eventualy with multiple tiers let me know and I' ll take that in consideration for future updates.:)

There is one small issue. The main folder is called PolytopeStudio instead of Polytope Studio for the other packages. Not sure if this was by design or not.

    Hi Viorel,

There appears to be a problem with the textures if you own more than one of your assets. For a quick test just create a new unity project and then import all of your assets. Only the first one imported is textured correcty. (might be just the last one, memory is terrible as i did this last night). The rest of the assets cannot find the texture/material. It is easy enough to redrag the texture but tedious as there are alot of weapons/characters.

Not game breaking for me but spoke to another user of your assets and they are having the same issue.
