    Hi,

    Any idea of how to play the transition animations backwards to make go from prone to stand, or prone to crouch? Seraching the forums found that playing at a speed of -1 will play backwards, but it didn't work! I think that if there is no back animation included it has to be a way to do it!

    Thanks!

    Hi you need to set it in the animator not on the animation clip itself.

    Danirey;

    Looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing, it is great to see my animations used in an actual game sample :D

    While I am on the topic of animation, I am exporting the animation files for 2.0 to FBX as I type this, so it is getting closer. It will be submitted Monday / Tuesday to Unity. I still need to animate a couple new additions however.

    I will post here when it is submitted, thanks again for your patience.

    I have finally submitted version 2.0 to the Asset Store, it is now in Unity's hands and with some luck it should be live very soon. Thanks for your patience during this huge update! It is really appreciated.

    Version 2.0 - Whats New!

    Added - Hip versions of the animations (Aiming, Shooting from the hip e.t.c)
    Added - Draw Weapons Set
    Added - Holster Weapons Set
    Tweaked Polished - All animations (Each update will include additional polish e.t.c)

    Total animation count is now over 310 animations!

    I will continue to work on this pack by adding additional animations and extra polish in future updates.

    Thanks for your on going support!

    More goodies coming soon from Game Ready Art .Com

    From what I can see, no. This, to me, is the single biggest shortcoming of this package. It has more animations than most users will ever need, giving them the flexibility to create any type of game play they might imagine, but there's a lot of heavy lifting still required before you have ANY type of game play, and unless you're a Mecanim wiz, you'll be hard pressed to make a character that does much more than idle and walk with it. Compared to the Character System for Mecanim, which has many of the same animations, plus a controller, plus a playable demo character, for close to the same price (I just checked the Asset Store, and the Veteran + Mecanim CS pack is on sale right now for even less), the value of this pack becomes harder to see. This is too bad, because Character System isn't perfect either, and with a bit of extra polish, this package could go from B- to A+ in terms of usefulness, and give Character System a bit of sorely needed competition. Even a basic core demo character, that could be extended with additional animations, would be better than nothing. But a full blown, tour de force version, cramming as many of these animations as possible into one character, would be a great way to showcase what this package is truly capable of.

    Hey Guys;

    Sorry for the delayed reply, I am in the process of moving to a new country and it is taking most of my time, so much to do and only 3 weeks left until I get on the plane!

    I do have plans to add a character controller to this package at some point, when that will be I can not say for sure, but as soon as it is near I will shout from the rooftops for all to hear!

    Thanks for your support, more update news to come.

    Take care.

    Sorry for the late reply I have been moving from one country to another, so I have been completely offline until now. The weapon placement template is basically a set of weapon shapes positioned on the rig, if you align (Rotate / Translate) and scale your weapons to closely match the temp weapons it will look correct in terms of position. If you have any further questions or need help please visit my site or shoot me a PM.

    Take care.

    Again as mentioned above sorry for the late reply, just in the process of moving. I have plans for version 2.5 which I will be starting shortly, after I get this other project out of the way first. So much to do and not enough hours in the day hahaha. Once 2.5 comes out I will be posting a new video and news about it.

    Take care.

    One of the things I'm really missing in the pack is aim animations. Mecanim's LookAt IK doesn't work properly for this case, and I'd really like to just have LookUp/Down/Left/Right animations which I could blend between to make a character aim around.

    Send an email via contact form.
    Should note that in order to work properly as additive animations in Mecanim they should be sweeps - like for instance the Look Up animation, it should "sweep" from looking straight forward to looking up (and then set to not looping, so they clamp at the end looking up).

    Hi! Is it still alive?
    I was wondering waht does that skeleton optimization means? Will I still be able to use any other regular model instead of this nice squarish guy?

    Yup still alive and kicking. Skeleton optimization means that there are no unnecessary joints and controls, just a correctly built Mecanim skeleton, designed to give the best performance possible. You can re-target the animations in this pack to any other humanoid character of your choice, through the use of Mecanim.

    If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me through my website or private message.

    Take care.

    Hello; I am glad your liking the pack :D Please head over to: http://www.gamereadyart.com/content/contact-us/ and shoot me an e-mail if you have any tech support questions.

    However to quickly answer you're question, that really boils down to coding your weapons to trigger as you require them and when you require them. So you could use the character avatar (included in the pack) as a template for how I placed the weapons, place yours accordingly and then code the triggers. If you need clarification please do not hesitate to shoot me an e-mail using the above link.

    Take care.

    Ok thank you very much. Now I have another problem. These animations are not working very well in my own humanoid characters. My characters are from mixamo, so they are auto rigged. When the same animation plays, in your sample character works perfectly, but in my character does not work very well at all. Some bones on the hand are not very well transformed and positioned. What can I do to solve that ? Thx in advance :)

    Hi,

    Do these work well with UMA?

    Any chance you can show the draw animations?

    Thanks

    Hello Siblingrivalry;

    The draw animations for two handed is reach up to the back and grab. And single is reach to the hip and grab.

    Unfortunately I do not have a video prepped to show this.

    Mixamo Characters use a joint system that's very odd and can cause joint twists to look wrong due to their orientation on my rig. So it looks like I need to revisit this pack and do some tweaks and clean up.

    So here is what I will do, it may take a little while but I will use a Mixamo character and tweak all of the animations accordingly to look right for these characters and test them on a few other rigs as well to be safe. This will be a fix & polish update v2.1

    I am also working on a new and COMPLETE overhaul to my pack which will blow your mind! (Tentive 3.0 release free to all customers) But that's a few months away as I am about to become a dad so I need to focus on some personal things first.

    But I will seriously look into this Mixamo issue you have my word. So please use the http://www.gamereadyart.com/content/contact-us/ form to shoot me an e-mail and that way I can keep you updated to it's progress.

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention as I want to offer the best customer service I can on ALL of my packs present and future.

    So I have looked into this issue even more in depth and weighed the work load for the 2.1 update and weighed the work load for the massive 3.0 release. I have decided that I would rather give you guys the best package possible by focusing on the 3.0 release instead, however as I mentioned it is a few months away due to my wife being in her last term of the pregnancy and I need to focus on her and my child's well being first and foremost as I am sure you all understand.

    As a TEMP fix you could alter the avatar's muscle configuration to address some of the odd joint orientations you are getting on the Mixamo rigs, Just do not forget to update the avatar on the animations your using by going under the "RIG" tab on the animation file, click update avatar and then apply that update. So that animation file knows to use those new muscle settings.

    However with that said I am NOT willing to let any of you down either, and this is why the 3.0 update is going to blow your minds and will be well worth the wait I assure you, this will also be a free update to all current customers. I may also throw in a bonus into the pack as a special thank you for your patience and understanding (more on that later).

    Also NOW is the time to throw your requests (via e-mail or PM) to be included in the upcoming version.

    Thanks again and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Via E-Mail or a PM.

    I am not an UMA user myself, however if it uses Mecanim to drive the characters then yes it should work. But again I am not a UMA user so I would look into their pipeline further to be sure.

    Thanks for your interest. If you have any questions do not hesitate to shoot me an e-mail via my site.
