    80% SALE! :)
    2$ Down from 10$

    Hello everyone!
I recently released the Flames of the Phoenix asset pack to the Unity Asset store and thought I would share some information about it here on the forum.

    What is it?
This is a fire-fx pack, containing everything you might need to give your game that little extra heath and an original look.
It contains over 150 fire related particle-effect prefabs, all in a unique and hand painted style that takes heavy inspiration from artwork of Greek mythology.

All of the fires in the pack come in 7 pre-set color variations, which make it easy for the user to implement that one specific fire type that perfectly reflects the mood of the level that is being created.

However, if you find that one specific color variation is missing, all of the colors are actually changeable within Unity itself, since all of the sprites being used takes full advantage of either Additive or Alpha Blended Shaders.
Every particle effect in the pack also use some kind of sprite animation, to give them a more unique and living look.

Pre-set colors in the pack: Orange, Green, Ghost, Magic, Frost, Soul, Royal

Now that the general information has been taken care of, let’s get on to some more in-depth details of how the package is structured and how everything works!

The pack contains two different kinds of prefabs; Simple and Complex.

    COMPLEX
These are particle effects that contain several particle systems in one prefab, something like fire + smoke + embers that have been tweaked to fit together perfectly, giving the prefab a more realistic and refined look. These are great when you need a fire in your game scene that is going to get a lot of attention, something like a camp or bonfire, or if the player should be carrying a torch.

    Complex BigFire

    Complex SideFire

But sometimes you just want some particle effects in your game scene that you know won’t draw as much attention and therefore don’t need to be as taxing on the system. Or perhaps you just want some smoke rising from the ground without the fire? That’s where the simple prefabs come into play.

    SIMPLE
The pack includes a huge amount of ‘Simple Prefabs’. These are individual particle systems that are designed to look great while having a low emission rate, and a massive range of variation, making them perfect you want a lot of different types of fires in your scene or when you’re developing a mobile game or for the unity web player!

Another great use for the simple prefabs is to use them as building blocks when creating new complex prefabs.

Seems like an interesting asset pack? Great!
To get a better view of what is contained in the pack, check out the WEB DEMO HERE
The pack can be found on the Unity Asset Store, priced at 2$ HERE

    Hello again everyone!
Just updated the WEB DEMO to include some of the simple smoke prefabs, also made it so that the background is changeable to a lighter color!

Oh and I also added a poll to this post!
Would be great if you could take a second and answer it, just to give me a better idea if people find this kind of content interesting! :)

    Hello everyone!

I wanted to share that I’ve actually started to work on an update to the Flames of the Phoenix asset pack!

“Fires should not only complement the design of the level you’re in, but actually serve as a critical
part of setting the mood of that level.“

This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about the last couple of weeks and something I’ve taken very much into consideration while planning this update.

Because of this, all of the new fires in the update will have some extra effects added to them that fit with their respective color-scheme.
This is because, even though I like how the fires that are currently in the pack turned out, it feels like a lot more can be done with the different color variations.
This is to give some more flavors to each color-scheme and make them all stand out from each other, while hopefully also making the fires more interesting and appealing to look at.

Flavor ideas I’m working on adding into some of the new fires:

    • Wailing souls trying to escape their eternal torment in the Soul fires
    • Demonic beings of hell that tries to enter the mortal world through the Green fires
    • Ghostly figures that haunts the Ghost fires
    • The grim reaper seeminlgy lurking over the Frost fires

Oh... And I’ve also got some other cool ideas that I think would fit perfect into this update which may or may not include C# scripts… but I’m not quite ready to discuss that quite yet.

I will continue to update this thread as I get further into development into the update and I will share some images and videos when I get some good examples of the new content to show!

It would be great to hear what you guys think of this and if there’s any interest in this sort of update!
Also if you have any kind of request of what you’d like to see in the update I would love to hear it!

Whats the best way to make the prefab collidable? I the collision settings didn't seem to work for me.
