    EZ Hover - Easy Hover Physics

    The asset offers a quick and easy solution for hover physics that can be applied to any Rigidbody object in Unity without having to know any code.

    Features:


    Hover Grid component
    • Hover physics are implemented using a hover grid system.
    • The hover grid can be resized to cover the span of any gameobject.
    • Configurable settings: desired hover distance above the ground, upward acceleration, number of hover points to detect ground below etc.
    • The hover grid is resistant to being flipped with the ability to stabilize itself on separate axes.

    Hover Look component
    • The Hover Look component enables hovering gameobjects to rotate in all directions by moving the mouse cursor.
    • This is perfect for characters that need to hover but also freely look up/down/left/right in a first or third person perspective.

    Hover Movement Component
    • The Hover Movement component enables horizontal movement for hovering gameobjects by using WASD input.
    • Ability to avoid collisions with incoming obstacles by adjusting the horizontal speed and increasing the upward hover force.

    Desired Feedback:
    I would appreciate any feedback regarding the usefulness of the asset - is this a tool you could imagine yourself using during a game jam? All suggestions and criticism are welcome!

    Hello everyone!

    Just thought I'd provide a quick update on the asset progress.

    I have been refactoring all of the scripts to make the code nice, readable and easy to understand ready for launch.

    Also I've had to do quite a bit of tweaking to the hover physics calculations - it's almost there!

    Sorry for not posting in a while - EZ Hover has been officially submitted for review for release on the Unity asset store!

    A new trailer has been released for the asset showcasing the demo scene that is included in the asset package.





    I have spent the last month getting the asset ready for publication on the asset store. Most of the time was spent on documenting the asset and providing descriptions, screenshots, technical details etc.

    I'm trying this out now. Works well. And, you provide several examples to learn from. Good job!
