[RELEASED] DarkTree FPS system

    Not difficult? No, I can change the scene easily enough @LunyMoonraker . I just can't seem to take my weapons and inventory items with me to the next scene. Actually, I _CAN_ take them with me, I just can't use them in the next scene.

    If you have a solution, maybe you want to share it, rather than telling us all how easy it is. I for one would appreciate the help.

    No need for saltiness, mate lol We both agree that it's easy that we both were able to do it. But yes, once I figure out a save system for a character's presents/everything I can post it here. Let's make a race between the two of us, first one to post a save system for inventory and weapons is the mvp!

    Hello DarkTree!

    I was hoping not to touch this forum thread all the time so I could showcase a little project I made using this kit.
    However, now I must ask something here because I can't find out where to solve this issue I'm having.

    So after about a week learning how this kit works I also created a few weapons on my own.
    Everything fun and games until I noticed this "aiming" problem. :oops:


    I know you might be thinking oh the weapon scale is wrong or the position of the transforms are wrong.
    Reality:


    I have no idea why because first I thought the transform going inside the player but it wasn't. The problem is a bigga deal because I'm not able to shoot on anything when aiming down sights. Any idea maybe why?


    P.S. I will write a detailed review on this great kit through the asset store later on :p

    I have the same issue. Campfire can be "equipped", but can't press on the shelter button in inventory. Also, when campfire is equipped and aiming down by my feet, the playable character will fly backwards on the map (like moon-walking 100km/h).


    By the way, on the assetstore I thought it said save/load + crafting system but can't really figure them out. Waiting eagerly for the next update.

    you just have to move the ui so its out from under inventory ui. save and load is working f5 to save i think f9 to load. crafting is still being worked on. also need sticks and cloth for shelter. join discord

    I will concede MVP to you, @LunyMoonraker as I am dealing with other "real world" issues at the moment. Save/Load is a feature that was supposed to be present a couple of versions ago. Moving between scenes while maintaining inventory was an assumed feature. I am still hoping that @DarkTree finds the time to fix those 2 issues soon.

    Just a guess, but in the picture with the arms and rifle, check the rotation of whatever object you have highlighted. Shouldn't the blue arrow be pointing forwards? Also, on the aiming model, look for an extra collider. Your raycast or projectile seems to be hitting a nearby collider.

    Ok I'll check what you just said and do some more troubleshooting...



    EDIT: It doesn't make any sense with everything I've tried. Even tried locating the transform way outside of the player's capsule in the right direction. Still won't do it and assigning the Idle animation on the Aim part of the animator gave still the same result. The last thing I tried were the rotation and putting the game to 0.1 Timescale to see where the bullet went. It went nowhere.

    EDIT 2: Ok I don't know what did the trick exactly other than changing the weapon model to 1.1 of it's size after creating an entire new one but it solved the problem now. :)

    Not really, but you can always disable/enable options with your needs. Inventory and FPS core works well on mobile as it was tested hundreds of times.

    Yes, freshly imported project. Used your demo level and in a new level also.
    Also if you pick up rpg and rifle you cant swap to the rifle or the rpg depending on the one you pick up first

    It was missing reference on rocket script. Find object in project and apply explosion particle effect. Should work then

    1. how difficult it is to replace de default weapon and animations.
    2. is there a save/load system? if not , any plan to add it
    3. The demo scene in your demo app, is it included?

    It would be nice if their were some videos on how to implement into already made world instead of working from demo world?

    also a crafting system to make items in inventory would be a good idea

    To implement pack in existing world just drag game prefab prefab into your scene. Also crafting is in the progress

    thank you fore the reply I was asking about the crafting system because I wanted to implement my own, but failed to find where "items were stored in the scripts" so I was wondering if you had been working n it to see if I could get any tips

    Items are in DTInventory.characterItems list. Better to wait for new version where all inventory is commented and simplified.

    Have the bundle, and want to use this in the snaps HDRP that only support 2018.4 LTS. In 2018.4 some of the prefabs is invisible in this assets, and it set all the demoscene in the scifi HDRP scene invisible. Any way to fix it ? What is missing in picture 1.

    Попробуй импортировать с другой версией юнити. Это ошибка импорта, не ассета
