    Hallo everyone!

    Carnival of Gods: Oppression is a simple single player Dungeon Crawler game with different RPG features set in a fantasy world.



    Game Story

    In a titanic war between the seven deities of Aeriasiil, six of them opposed their brother's will to enslave the free races of the world. During the clash they managed to destroy his Divine Weapon thus weakening him enough to imprison him in a place beyond space called Limbo, where his power would be further weakened by the arcane power of the place.

    Every hundred years the access portals to Limbo reopen thanks to the cycle of revitalization of the Seal Energy that allows the very existence of it. Now that the portals are open again, many of the Tyrant's Disciples are crossing them to help their Master escape from his captivity.

    The gods, creatures of immense power, suffer more from the harmful effects of Limbo than the free races of the world, so they would not be able to stop the rise of their imprisoned brother while they have to protect themselves from his acolytes and the influence of Limbo. Three heroes are called to become their Champions, crossing one of the portals they will have to prevent the return of the Tyrant fighting him and his servants.

    Success will allow them to return safely to their world, Aeriasiil, proving their worth thus ensuring peace and serenity in the years to come. Failure, however, will throw the whole world into a deep darkness in which the Tyrant will carry out his revenge: subject the free races to his will, absorb all the magical power out of the world and finally annihilate his brothers and reign as the sole ruler.

    Become the Champions of the Gods, fight for your people, defend your world, without your efforts everything will be lost.

    Gameplay and how the game works

    You control 3 heroes in a procedural generated world map where Tyrant's disciples spawn every now and then to find places where the Limbo's energy is higher to gather it for their master; they travel toward certain points where a quest will spawn for the player to accept.

    Accepting a quest allows the heroes to venture inside procedural generated dungeons to stop disciples from "stealing" the energy, but each places requires different aproach so not all quest are the same.

    There are 2 different type of quests and both of them have a timer, and succeding them rewards your efforts with Seal Energy, once fully filled your heroes will automatically cast a Seal Spell to seal the Limbo again for hundred years, failing them, instead, rewards the Tyrant with some energy which is used to reforge his Weapon which is a part of his body, this allows him to gain all of his power back to become strong enough to cross the Limbo gates to land on Aeriasiil, your home world.

    Inside the dungeon the exploration is in real time while the combat adopt a particular aproach to turn based system: in combat the player takes different decisions and give the heroes different orders like which enemy to attack, which combat stance to adopt or cast a powerfull spell, once all decision have been made and all orders given to heroes the AI will take control of enemies and heroes to make them fight in real time for the next turn (which lasts 7 seconds), this repeats until the combat ends.

    Before beginning their mission, the heroes received a blessing from their beloved gods which allows them to come back to life every time they die inside Limbo, so if all heroes dies inside dungeons the quest will fail but they will be back to life to continue in their mission.

    Features currently available

    - High customization (choose your prefered World Map with its unique Seasons providing buffs and rewards, Party Members and their Equipment, 7 different Tyrant with their Rage Spells and cataclysms empowering their Disciples servants fought during missions and Game Difficulty)

    - Procedural generated maps, levels and enemies faced during missions for an always different experience


    - Fight the Tyrant disciples and stops their plans in two different quests with different gameplay and different enemies: Dungeon of Power and The Corrupting Ritual

    - Exploration freedom inside Mission Scenes: explore every corner or go straight to the source of the problem

    - Real time semi-idle combat, take decisions during Planning Phase and watch the results of them during Action Phase

    - Dynamic combat where injuries weaken you and your targets dealing less damage the more injuries they have

    - 5 Races with 3 different Talents per Race to choose, 6 Weapons with different bonuses and a peculiar Spell, 10 Glyphs to empower your chosen Weapon with passive bonuses, 6 Magic Symbols with 3 Passive skills, 5 Active Spells and 1 Dynamic Spell (which have different effects during combat based on your choice) to choose for each Heroes

    - Gain Experience and increase your party level to face more hard fights

    - Recover precious magic Mana Stones during your Missions to change your party equipment

    - High replaybility

    This looks very professional.

    The only thing that worries me is the timers in games. I hope it's done in a way that doesn't give anxiety instead of a challenge. I think most games that use timer in a wrong way leading to frustration. At least in my experience.

    But overall looks fun with lots of decisions!

    Sorry for the late response, although I have the option to receive an email when someone comment in my threads I didn't received any email about your comment.

    Thank you for your words ^^, and no the timer provide all the time to the players to complete the missions, however, if you spend part of your time in game afk than you will end up failing the mission.

    There are 5 difficulties in the game, each difficulty decrease the available time for the missions, the hardest difficulty provide enough time but it's just "the right amount", than if you waste your time you will end up losing the mission, but this happens only on the hardest difficulty.

    Hello everyone, after a long run the game has been released on both Steam and itch.io.

    The release come with a new update with the following additions:
    • A new system: Cataclysms, a Tyrant powerful permanent effect which grows in power as the Weapon Forge grows.
    • Improved graphics and appearence,
    • 4 new Tyrants with all their Rage Spells, their Disciples (with their spells) and their Cataclysms
    • Various bug fixes for rare and uncommon bugs
    • Minor improvements on performance in the combat scene
