    Hey :)

    Now i have enought pieces, i gona start the texturing and my grid system into unity. But i find that cool to build youw own ship with modules! :) I need to make minor adjustment with the modules part size, but it give me a good idea of the final result. I hope you like it!

    I'm looking at the office chair and thinking of the classic Star Trek bridge scenes where the ship gets rocked. :D

    After few tests, i think that the dimensions are ok, it allow you to populate the ship interiors + you can walk without bump everywhere... (White cube = You)

    Not sure what you should do about it, but maybe think about someone increasing the scale, so that it's like double wide or whatever.

    The solution can be simple. Just make the sides, floor and ceiling separate pieces. Then you can add as many floor/ceiling segments as you want, and you can make the corridor as wide or as narrow as you want.

    It's allready the case! :) But for the first release i'll provide only the parts that allow you to make some looonnngg module :) The parts used to make this module are only few pieces!

    Everything is modular, but only to make some long parts, if i want to make to larger module i need some others pieces:

    Just to be more clear :) I thinked my modules from the starfield first ship size :

    This is the interior of the first game spaceship:

    But if i want to make some more larger part, it need some other modular cap! idem for cockpit:

    So for the first release, only some spaceship type 1 (game) are possible to build... It take a lot of work! :)

    Engine module finish! :) I'll work now on the side reactors, it will give me a better idead of the spaceship :)

    For the first spaceship release, those kind of module (engine) will be closed, if peoples need a access inside,i'll do with ease, a tubular corridor in a release... Why tubular? Because those modules are smaller than the HAB modules, but it's possible to make a tubular corridor.

    Hey! :)

    Here is a test of the fixation system... It allow you to dock anything on anything, there is two versions (Reactors not textured yet, but it help me to see the futur... :)

    Right now, it looks a bit fragile.. The parts fell heavy and very stable, but the connecting points feel too thin, to me.

    So in outer space, this might be fine. But it doesn't look like an atmospheric entry and especially landing could be sustained.

    Sorry to put pressure on you :)

    - 1.9 : Release roadmap
    • New spaceship modular kit! I hope you like it :) (Bunch of work...)
    • New kit price due to the spaceship kit...

    • New prefabs added without lithning (Ex: P_Panel_Mini_Screen_02_NoLight) Extension
      use them if you want to optimize your scenes. The normal versions contain many pointlights.

    • A global scenes fps optimization, it was simple :) I "disabled" all the no necessary pointlights... There is bunch of them alive, to get a good rendering quality with post FX, but you can/need to disable them to get more FPS!

    Cool. Looks like you could use the spaceship modular kit to also make some MechWarrior/BattleTech kind of stuff. Not just space ships. :cool:

    Why not! :) The most important thing is : Find the grid... Once the grid is ok, you're the king of the world... You can assemble everything with everything :) The spaceship kit allow you to make another spaceship! Why not a mech head :)

    Remove the engines and you basically have a famous quadruped mech from a far away galaxy ;)
    Awesome job ! I will finally have something to defend (which is not the jeep) in a previous VR project using your assets :D The Prometheus-like ship is really cool but too big for my needs haha

    With this update you can make your own ship! A smaller is possible :)

    As you can see the ship size has been "thinked" a bit more to fit the actual structs... With background i admit that the scifi kit 3 is cool, but it's a big mess with units..

    Here is a more serious WIP video :) (Without sound scratch..) as you can see the scene fluidity (without optimization i repeat...) is better now:

    "How it is possible Creepy Cat? What magic spell you are using?"

    Nothing... When i released the package i put many pointlight/spotlight into the prefabs, offen with soft shadow computing ON... So I went back to the lighting scene by scene and turned off (not removed) the lights which are not important and I also changed the shadow mode of quite a few spotlights. And magic!

    There is bunch of work to do now :

    - Interior modules
    - Doors / Prefabs etc...

    But the result will be cool :)

    Usually i don't like to do beta releases,but I'm making an exception this time.

    One of the next feature for the ship will be a automated lightning process OFF/ON, this feature is included in starcitizen and i would include this into the kit, when you enter into a room the light slowly on/off when you quit :)

    The advantage of this method is: To be nice, the interior room lightspot need to be shadows ON! But there is 2 spot by rooms X the number of room etc...

    The eternal "optimization" problem that peoples don't understand... :) In the script when the light intensity > 0
    i disable the light actor. And i enable it when i'm into the room. With this method i can keep my lightning with top quality without 50000 spotlights with shadows.

    This IS display "optimization"...

    We can see already the modularity it will allow us.

    I am now pretty curious about the future interior of "cowling" (I would see escape pod or system room there) + "exterior reactor" (like a small scale version nukereactor from Unity's VFX Spaceship Demo video) + "cargohold" ( :D

    However, I am still struggling with the asset, I only have Sci fi kit 4 in this project, and the current scene only has the new spaceship... I reduced most of textures from 4k to 1024 to save my 16Gb RAM... But seems not enough...

    I just updated the package this morning! :) You will see the feature and the scenes with better FPS! Do not hesitate to report me if the asset is better now! :) About the interior modules? I'm working on but, you can see some of them allready. Ex : P_Ship_Interior_BedDouble_01
