[RELEASED] 3D Scifi Kit Vol 3!

    Hi!

    I writed to Unity but they not replied back yet, but i upgraded to the latest version of Unity (2018.2.17f1) and now the editor is downloading the right package :) so its seems the upgrade is solve this problem, another little thing, can i change somehow the Ptolemy space base module to use not just as a ring shape base? as i see the whole module are one big element.

    Do what you want my friend! this kit is your now, modify it, paint it, change it, anythings you want :) But work always with a copy, because sometime i change some stuff like directory name etc (via users requests).

    So yes you can use the big station cake part to make what you want :)

    Why is it that all I can see now on the finished model is four great masses of smoke covering the ground as the engine's fire up and lift off :D

    It's probably just me, but from this angle, the body of the ship looks too small compared to the size of the engines

    No you right, it's the field of view and the camera orientation (american view from bottom) ! When the first texture will be applied on the body, this feeling will disapear :) It's because your eyes have a problem when they view the picture, why ? because the body detail are just not here (flat render), when the first details will come, your eye will do the balancing with your brain to feel the good spaceship size. (i hope to be clear...) Details made all...

    Body texturing started! I'm happy of the first test results (center of the body), i need to make it piece by piece, to avoid a maximum "the grid" and the uw wraping, to get the most various graphics pattern, with the minimal texture number. Yeah! It's a game :)

    Your asset seems to interest me and I see some craft have LCD, possible to LCD are dynamic for display speed and altitude by example ?

    Hi

    On this point i don't want to go in this direction (*)... The actual HUD for the ships is a flat /double side quad with a correct UW mapping, it able you to display another full size texture into the HUD. Free for you to work in memory with a texture that display your needed informations => and next display this texture by code from memory to => the object (nothing is frozen into my kit, all is modular, you can access to all..)

    (*) Why? Because IMO a kit need to be stay "light"... Without so much code/exotic shader etc because when a user insert my kit inside a projet, my kit need absolutly don't generate bug/shader bullshit etc. And the numerous Unity coding deprecations do not seduce me to make code, because each unity version need updates, and asset re-upload....

    Actually i'm a bit buzzy between few projects, but i'll finish this damn spaceshit soon i can :) Maybe before christmas... Else start 2019.

    Due to the work needed for this ship, i think release it with two steps, the first update will include the ship and the command center.

    And next i need to make a interior kit especialy for this ship (i tryed to use my previous building kit inside the ship and it do not seduce me... I need to make a small kit only for big spaceships.) when i'll finish it i can make the ship interior for the second release.

    It's not a waste of time because this kit will be reused for the others big spaceships.

    Hey :)

    After a week of flu (stuck me to bed with fever...), i'm returning gently to work... it's not easy to manage the sickness when you live alone, I just realized this (I'm never sick usually) ... But I'm better today :) But damn flu...

    I'm finishing the reactor support texture...

    Well (off-topic), but good news is that sounds like you are in that small percentage of people who never gets "common cold", which is actually about 200 different harmless viruses that out immune system freaks out about (making sneezing and temperature to kill them). Your immune system is probably smarter to not give a f... about those 200 types :)

    I am a unity teacher in a graphic design school, and I know how I contracted the flu virus ... Schools are a nest of viruses, students spend their time sharing bacterias between them. :) :)

    I'm starting the front up part (WIP), this big baby eat 3 atlased textures for the moment... Damn! :) But i have no choice, i try to make atlasing re-using at maximum, but there is too much particular parts...

    Do it.. I re-watched Prometheus and Covenant during my flu, what films... So ok the scenario is perfectible, but what master art for VFX / Light / Design... Really inspiring for me :)

    And i'm happy i' have now a cool picture of the spaceship rear ! It missed to me. And i take a decision... TADAAA ! :)

    There will be a docking bay at the rear of the ship to enter one or two Walkyrie fighters (with wings folded) ! I think that possible to link this docking bay after with the interior kit... I need masturbate my brain a bit on it, but i think that i can :)

    Hi Creepy-Cat,

    I just bought your asset and want to say thank you for this amazing package. I've made a small test scene with the Space_Base_01 prefab and replaced the standard shader with Uber - Standard Shader. That looks great. :)

    Hello!

    I would like to get a little help, how can i re texture the white ships to looks like as the walkyrie and any workflow to convert materials into a one material, some ship are using more than one material and stations too, batches are really high.

    It's not really possible because i re-use the atlas to a maximum! To get a low number set of textures... The only spaceship you can colorize it the walkyrie because this ship use only 2 atlas (15 and 16 if i remember)

    PS : Maybe you can change the materials directly? Make a copy of the materials and you can change the color.But it's a bit of work...
