Oh yes I was Apple devs a long time ago.. Crazy period of my life...
I have lots of your assets. I will choose a prefab for the showroom kit
A quick video about the interior kit...
Update 1.09 online, get it!
Firstly wanted to say thanks for the awsome asset and really apprecaite the updates!
Though I do have an issue with getitng the most recent one as when I download it sends version 1.07, I have tried deleting the asset and downlolading again but stil have the same issue
Is there anthing you can suggest to try and force it to download 1.09?
You need to write to Unity for this, because i don't have any control on the unity store files :/ Send an email to the support! Unity Technologies <firstname.lastname@example.org> it's not the first time a user report me this kind of problem.
I got another problem with a product stucked 4 months in the approval pipe...
I just checked the latest version on line and it seem to be 1.09 :
And the package seem to be the good one on the store (i believe you, i just wanted to verify)
One solution worked for a customer : Try to import the kit on another PC, it worked for him.
I downloaded 1.09 and it was ok. I suggest deleting the old pack from the C:\Users\accountName\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store and try again
U see you are ready for the 26 March
Have the same issue - Have tried multiple times to download 1.09 but it always return 1.07 - says 1.09 but gives 1.07 - it also reports the wrong file size 732MB which is different from your screen shot( 820 mb). Have deleted all files between attempts and using a clean project - have tried on 2 different pc's etc. etc. but no luck
Shame as it seems an excellent update to an excellent set of assets - May try again in the future.....
also the number of files is not correct...
I would like to help you, but i don't have controls on the downloaded files, since this news store there is a bunch of problem.... Unity please fix those S***s...
Try to contact the support, because on my side, i can't do something.
Note : I'm really desapointed by those problems... I'll try to contact the support too. But i know allready the reply...
For everyone not being able to download newest version of the package. I found the hard way that you need to update Unity. Apparently sometime older versions of Unity will not recognise newer versions of some packages.
Doing this worked for me.
Uploading an asset to the store is an automated process. You have no control in this process.
This is what I see:
Total file size 820.7 MB
Number of files1079
Oh yeah. I am using the Holo tables.
Added new pipes.
Do not forget holo tables now! Actually i take a small break... I work a bit on the interior kit, but i need to think again and again before starting the big job
Note : Always with uber shader? Nice rendering!
Yes, I use Uber shader most of the time. I think for the holo table I need a new room.
Hello, Creepy-Cat! I have an "off-topic" (kind of) question. Simple, but the same time complicated one. Have you maybe thoughts to get you asset (or maybe parts of it) to Unreal Engine? There is a recent example of success of doing so, "SciFi Industrial Level Kit 2.0" migrated from here to UE market, and it is a great hit there (I also bought it). I imagine game-logical things are complicated to migrate, but maybe all physical assets (buildings, textures, vehicles...) could be relatively speaking easy to make for UE4?
It's a good question! On Barking dog one of my customer tryed to make UE engine convertion of my 3D Scifi Base :
The rules are the same i think for my Scifi 3
Each time i tryed UE i found this engine complicated... And the big problem is the units! They are based on 64 / 128 / 256 / 512 etc, and it's the big problem for me to retrieve the same rules for my kit. I'll need to redo all the prefabs, all the maps... (sigh)
Learn and use a 3D engine is a long way... UE4 is a really good 3D engine, but the interface is absolutly not productive! So in my case i don't see me on two fronts line for the support and the creation...
Just a quick screenshot to show you the first texturing (partial, only the two walls) of the interior kit, i'm trying to re-use at maximum my previous atlas to avoid texture creation It's my drug I like exploit at maximum my previous work...
Why? Because why reinvent the wheel each time And the optimisation in term of memory is impressive.... Actually the kit just have 20 textures (diffuse), it can be inserted inside another project without eating all ressources....
The advantage of this module method is that you have just one material to change to modify a specific room lightning
Texturing almost finish for the first module No new texture! I think i'll need to create one time... I like the rendering, it allow to give good ambiant with colored lights (no light used here, just illum texture)
I would like to show some small illustrations for what we were talking earlier. Your assets in UE4 I don't have Vol3, so those are UE4 editor screens of Vol2 scene.
Oh! excellent! How many time the conversion take to you, in term of time?
It is scene export to obj in this case. So, all that is "one piece". Material slots exported okay. I imported manually all textures from Unity folders and made materials in UE4 from those textures.
I used free OBJ exporter for Unity. Before exporting scene, i deleted all cliffs, rocks.
Time, hard to say, i catch minutes besides work and family when i can (it is midnight here now, for example). It was not much time, but i did that (Scene, not just one mesh, from Unity to Unreal) for a first time, so, it was slower than it will be for next such thing )) Oh, but I think it is kinda illegal to use Unity assets in UE4 )) (is it?) But, it is my personal learning experiment, so that should be fine ;-)
Oh yeah it's a quick solution, if it work, it's the essential!
So here some new test of interior with the existing prefabs, i really like the rendering
Will be interesting some day to try convert Vol3 assets (well, without game mechanics) to UE4 to play with them, and within them ;-)
A short video to show you the interior kit grid and rendering, you will able to mix the hexagonal modules with some other low poly walls (i don't reinvent the wheel, my previous work as been re-used), it allow me to prototype quickly the infinity interiors.
Adding the occasional hex room seems like a great way to break up the monotony of square-only rooms.
Yeah! Exactly I plan too a hex room with a stair in center! It should be cool to make levels.
Interior Infinity level creation started! (WIP)
Stairs finish! Pfiuuu (sigh)... 3 days on this object...
I think the stair steps should be animated, like on an escalator. (I'm totally teasing! )
Lol I'm a very bad animator... Each time i need to animate something, it hurt...
for a exploration spaceship, i think that important to add cryo tubes WIP
Final cryopods Of course they can be opened!
Nice! They can play Teris and stuff while sleeping!
Lol yeah, there is a screen where you can put your own texture!
1) Hi ! Where can I find a list of big prefabs ? I mean stations, airplanes, guns and so on....
2) I have the 3D Scifi Kit Vol 2, so i'm not sure to buy Vol 3. But it looks awesome ! ;-)
Wait... i am confused now. I did post excitement with screenshot, that i finally bought Vol 3. But it is not here. I posted on other thread? I am dizzy confused now on this )
Are there any issue using this with Adventure Creator or UFPS?
Haha... Oh well, I hope that won't be considered bad thing that i posted there
Hey Creepy-Cat you are at the store front page.
Is it compatible with HDRP?
Hey ! for the first time
I don't tryed yet to convert it to HDRP, but some users do it without particular problem they say! All the textures needed for this are provided.
I'm working (slowly) on the interior kit, why "slowly" because i'm tired In fact i'm on this project since several months without take a break, so i try to keep my force... If i want to go far away
Here is the actual interior kit, i'm finishing the captain room by interior props creation! But the interior kit is cool, very versatile.
Take your time and don't burn out.
