Chair texturing in progress... It's looonnngggg! I don't realized the number of small pieces to unwrap needed (picture 1)

I need to make the normal map after and the metalness... Can't wait to build my first new panels to apply on this chair! Sometime, organizing the atlas, is like playing tetris... Each zone part is precious!

 

One plus for the chair is it can go approximately 80 mph downhill in the snow!

 

And it make the coffee I think separate the chair with two part, the chair alone, and the hud alone, like this the chair only can be used anywhere, idem for the HUD it can be converted to a stand HUD panel.

When i worked on the chair, i got the idea to make a variation for it For the pilot to the front of the ship command center. With a big curved HUD I hope you like it

Yes, i not created the bitmap yet But the hud will be double sided and transparent

So here is some news...

I finished my damn pilots chairs and HUD and the spaceship will be ready for the first (R1) upgrade!

I just need to finish the textures of my panels stuff to put them on the pilot chairs! And after?

- The release...
- And next a small break... i'm on this project all the days since 2 years...
- And i need to think the next update without pressure...

What i'll made for this update (R2) ?

- First the spaceship interior kit... A big stuff to do...
- Next some new props for the pilots command center, like holo table etc...

Thank you for your patience, but I did not imagine that this ship would require so much work when i started this upgrade...

Here is the new panels pieces i need to texture and integrate to unity.

Note for people's sending mails to say that my package is too expensive, i just want to say :



- You need to know that first i'm a freelancer GFX artist, my cost per day is around 250/300$ day, if i count the time i worked on this project, you can make a simple multiplication...

250$ x 535 days = 133750 $ if you wanted to buy my datas by the official freelancer way...

And if I wanted to make a special discount price for the total duration of the project, example, 150$ days, the sum would be : 80250$ a budget far beyond your financial capacity...

I do not understand people sometimes... They get 2 years of work for 65$ (with free upgrades) and they are not happy....

Quality has a price...

 

In my opinion, you are a great artist and the package is cheap.

I'm uploading the package right now on the unity store, it should be online in two or three days. For a package of this size i don't do external uploading (my internet connection is a S***...), is too much big.

There is few days i'm brainstorming on a effect i really liked on prometheus, the holo tables... Like this one :



And i want to create a mix between this one, and the Alien covenant movie. But without shader or code Just with the using of particles additive shader and 3 lines of scripts. I get some good results for the moment. I'll publish a small video soon.

Only two textures atlas used I worked on a small script facing the targets in front of camera, to increase the holographic effect! There is some cool elements to use for your needs! Targets/screen/windows etc, with a bit of imagination you can create your own HUD

That is so cool.

 

One part of my job i hate... Creating the HUD patterns for screens! In fact, this part of the work is always boring when you have made 300 objects and the unwraps + textures...

Creating 3D HUD's is a real job to do... Because a HUD bitmap need to be "coherent" with the universe you want to create, and you need to be very imaginative to put the text informations

Sometime i put some small jocke inside This time those new HUD bitmaps will be to PSD formats , with layers

I hope you'll appreciate! Because i need to violent myself to make this But i'll try to do nice stuff...

Is the PSD in the package?

 

It will be included in the 1.09 release, the actual release is the 1.07, and the coming soon release with the big spaceship is the 1.08 Am i clear ?

 

Cool, because it is annoying to modify png UI textures without layers.

As a suggestion, maybe have some HUD without language? That way the visuals can be for alien ships as well as Earth ships.
