    Updating the page

    Brief Description
    • "helpers (or dummy)" - are GameObject (created in the 3D Max or Unity3D)
    • "attach" - is accessories, optics and etc
    • menu - the menu that appears when the user clicks on the button
    Improvements
    • updating to Unity 5.5
    • completely redone the background
    • completely redone lighting
    • the materials of the model to Unity 5.5
    • when adding a new "helper" he will search for a free place
    • when adding a new "helper" will automatically be added icons and attachments, which were assigned to him (respectively)
    • improved the rotation system of the model, now the basic rotation axes Y, Z
    • improved the system of rotation of icons, the movement occurs a little more smoothly
    • improved system of particles in the background (they are dust)
    • added more "attachments" for demonstrating opportunities
    • changed textures of auxiliary points on the model and icons
    • changed the rotation path of the icon relative to the model

    Bug fixes
    • now when adding a new "helper" will not create assigned "Attachments"
    • now when the menu is dropped (at the icon), and the menu on top of another icon with the button, the collision will be eliminated to avoid activation of the icon behind the main (ie selected)
    • when the menu is dropped, the icons are positioned correctly

    Hi Sam , How are u doing ?
    For a long time i have been looking for a Weapon Modding / Customization System to use for my FPS zombie survival game , but really didn't find any either in YouTube ( tutos ) , Unity asset store or anywhere else . I was looking for a Modding System like Metal Gear Solid V , BlackLight Retribution , Battlefield and Escape from tarkov but didn't find any until i saw this unity thread and said why not check it out , so i did and i found what i was looking for , a real awesome modding system with a big capacity of weapon models and attachments , a changeable background , costume image ( camera ) effects and full weapon PBR ....... this is my perfect asset that i would love to use for my game , sure with a little updates on ur asset and my game ( cuz i'm doing a whole remake ) we will have a perfect game system .
    Is this a free asset or a paid one ? and i really wonder why there's no comments on this thread , it's a really helpful asset since there's no Tutos like this onYoutube .. :) Thanks

    "Is this a free asset or a paid one ?" - The asset can be purchased for a certain amount, but the price has not been set yet.
    "PM if u are interested into my game development?" - No thanks. i'm not looking for a job.

    There are no price for this asset yet. I will add the price when the project is completed by 90 percent. A lot of time and effort goes into developing this asset.
    Not, there is no any demo scene, but soon i will add a demo scene on this page...

    Please include the Escape From Tarkov style inventory in your preview! This would greatly help in learning how a survival FPS is put together. Ready to buy this as soon as it is available.

    The weapon modding mechanics will be similar to EFT, but inventory system will be different because copy is not good!

    1. Improvement and fixes of weapon switching systems
    2. Drop and pick up items
    3. Automatic layer assignment, depending on which window we are working in (it was previously configured manually, for each model)
    4. Automatic scaling of icons in inventory depending on the size of the object (previously adjusted manually, for each model)
    5. Completely replaced the modding system (previously everything was attached directly to the weapon, now it all depends on whether they are (attachments) in the inventory)
    6. Automatically find things in inventory and attach them to the appropriate helpers
    7. Fixed and improved method of saving attachments
    8. In the mode of modding, when selecting the appropriate attachment, all icons are automatically rearranged under the main one (thereby freeing the site from inactive ones)
    9. In the mode of modding, when the corresponding attachment is selected, the system automatically removes / adds icons to the inventory

    This is looking very good, Sam! Excellent update. I offer a suggestion to maybe add attachment separation with sound effect like this at 1:10? Or it could be better to just keep things simple and keep it how it is.

    A few questions:

    Will your inventory system support adding of other items such as ammunition types, armor or body gear? I see places for body equipment in the inventory, but don't think I saw any equipment example.

    Is there ammunition count? Where picking up ammo adds that many bullets to your inventory.

    Will attachments be weapon-specific? (For example: AK47 scope only works on AK47 and can't go on other weapons, etc.)

    Does adding a silencer change weapon sound?

    Sound effects will add when the basic mechanic system is completed.

    Body armors, head set and etc - Yes, it will. I will add specific basic icons for this. After users can link them to the player(s).

    I will add a bullets and associate with magazine.

    "Weapon-specific" - Yes, this is already present. (User just need to set the appropriate tag)

    NOTES:

    This asset is not a game, this is - "Inventory and Weapon Modding System".
    The user looks to add weapons, attachments, other things and after associating it with the player.
    It one helps users not to develop similar system because it takes a lot of time.

    The example build is working well (the FPS weapon model in shooting mode does not show modification changes after adding attachments or magazine, but I think this is intended, only to showcase mods menu and inventory). Looking good!

    I will redownload and test again, but I tried multiple times and clicking the save button does not take me back to the inventory, I click save and it keeps me on the weapon modding screen, so I have to tap "i" to close, then open the inventory again, and I see that the mods are still attached, but do not appear on the weapon in-game.

    In short, I added attachments to the gun and closed the inventory. Then I re-opened the inventory and still had attachments and it said I had none

    1. Changed sound settings, now it will play when dragging icons

    Hey.

    I'm glad write that work on the asset is almost complete.
    And i began to investigate the issue of price.

    At the end of the week i will upload the latest build demo-scene.
    Then i will prepare another demo-scene for the release version (simple scene where there will be 2 weapons (rifle and pistol) and their attachments).

    At the same time i will added link on the RoadMap where you can following for the future updates I decide that the price will be increase when i released big updates.

    I decided that i would release two assets
    First - Full Version
    Second - Medium Version

    A lot of time was spent and effort and so the price will be appropriate for the Full Version.

    Hi everyone.


    The Asset olready is complete. It one ready to realizing as a alpha version.

    And now i will prepare the asset to submit package for approval.
    I must create the new demo scene, and prepare a video that will be demonstration it all features the asset.

    The Build link updated. This is the last build!

    Update:

    1. Added a pistol, it will be as a separate class.
    2. Hid the right panel (loot)
    3. Modding - scale the icons when we scale weapons
    4. Increased the time take on the items
    At the moment, there is a small bug related to the creation of icons after modding. It looks like this: the inventory is full of things, we modify the weapon, then save it, in the backpack we change the icons, rearrange and do so that there is no suitable place for the icon. After that, as we remove something from the weapon, the icon disappears.

    It was difficult for me to decide the price.
    I did not want the price to be very large.
    I evaluated it according to the criteria:
    • First - is a time which i spend on work
    • Second - is the volume of work
    • Third - is analogues of a similar system that have Asset Store
    The price of the asset is 45$ (let me know if you have a suggestion)
    The price is likely to be updated...

    1. Documentation - in there i wrote about the asset and its features.
    2. Manual - it will be available only to users who purchased the Asset. I will add it in the first update.
    Reading the documentation, before purchasing, is an obligatory part. There you will find the description and capabilities of the Asset.

    One request which would make your asset even better and more functional - can you add a basic "loot" box, where a player can open and drag items from the searched box, into their inventory?

    This would be a good way to create a start for someone wanting to implement looting items from dead enemies and searching for items in other storage areas, and would be a very good extension of the inventory and pickup system, and should definitely be a feature to demonstrate the full functionality of the inventory system.

    I have a suggestion. A more detailed "inspect window", such as description / stats area and Equip/Drop button. A simple addition, but will add more depth to the inventory if descriptions/info is able to be added for items. The horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the window showing attachments available for the weapon that are in the inventory of the player is also a good touch, if it isn't too time consuming to add. This would apply not only to weapons, but to any other items a developer would want to use this system for (example: if someone was making a racing game and customizable cars, the inspect menu can display available parts and some stats like speed etc.) I think it is especially beneficial for a weapons inventory system
