I can see how build profiles are useful but the way it's implemented is lazy. It's trying to force profiles without really daring to go that far and the result is a mess. If you want to impose a new workflow, own it and don't allow platform input for example, if you want to afford both workflow then do it in a way that is optimal for both workflows.

Right now add scene takes 4x clicks, and the build UI is an overcomplicated, tangled mess. Which is worrisome because it shows that the nasty trend of decay in the editor continues. URP is still a mess after 5 years, so you need to do the hard thinking of designing for simplicity the first time.

    Hi Laurent,

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on build profiles. In order to allow folks to upgrade to U6 without breaking workflows or build scrips, we took the decision to add the build profiles as an optional workflow. This lets us add the new feature for developers who find value in it, while also supporting existing projects. We will be monitoring uptake and feedback on build profiles to make sure it's as good as it can be.

It sounds like you're interesting in making managing scene lists for profiles more efficient. This is something we're thinking about. We've had some feedback already that giving the option to use the shared Platforms scene list for build profiles would make managing scene lists for multiple profiles quicker.

Would this improve the build profile workflow for your use case?

But you DID break the workflow!

Yeah then move it to the bottom in a separate foldable section and bring back Add Scene button and don't gray out the scene list

There is so much confusion on your end... just bring back the old interface and add a section or a button at the bottom with the new UI.

So, just show a mockup and we'll discuss. Currently the UI fails on all fronts.
