The question - how many reflection probes is TOO many? What's the true overhead of each one? Is there a limit as to how many you should place?

    Hey SteveJ,

the theoretical limit is 4 billion, but the overhead depends on the platform. What is your target configuration?

    Cheers

I think I've got this fairly balanced. I'm making a grid-based game so I originally just wrote a script to put a probe in every grid square - leading me to contemplate and post this question :)

I've now refined it to evenly space them out throughout the level (about 1 every 3 grid squares), and their size ensures that they just slightly overlap each other, covering everything. They're also set quite small res - I think 128 from memory - as I really don't need much detail.

Cool! It helps to read the manual and see that there is actually an API for dealing with light probes. I hadn't actually checked

    Will play around.
