Hi everyone. I am in the process of building a Redwood Forest Pack (PBR) for the Asset Store. A breakdown of what is under development can be found below. If you are interested in this pack and or have any suggestions about what should be added or changed or what other features you would like, please do comment below.

I am posting this now so I can get a head start on adding what people may suggest. This is your chance to get models/textures that would suit your fancy added to the mix. I will add screen shots/video as the pack progresses.

    The Purpose

My goal is to provide environment assets that will work out of the box with reputable shaders and models/materials that will last for versions to come (whilst giving the option to use built in unity shaders for leaves too). There is nothing like dropping a pretty penny on what was presumably a great asset to only open it and see a sea of pink or worse broken or bad alphas…eww.

    Scene

Large scale scene that spans about 1 square kilometer. Using a PBR textures to ensure the best lighting/texturing. Some assets will rely on foliage shaders for leaves. I will not be using the built in unity terrain for this but traditional environment ground design. This will be well documented as mentioned below. There is simply no comparison to using PBR shaders on the ground versus the built in terrain shaders inside Unity.

    Documentation

Detailed documentation (with video/photos) explaining exactly how the scene was created, tips on environment design as well as best practices/optimization etc.

I aim to build documentation that will get even the newest of users up and running leaving no stone unturned when it comes to documentation. Sometimes what is obvious to others is foreign to new users so I will break it down to the most basic and provide an index for skipping to the more advanced stuff.

    Flora

    4 High Definition Redwood Trees

    2 Redwood Stumps

    3 Douglass Fir Trees

    2 Red Alder Trees

    2 Arbutus Trees

    2 Umbellularia Trees

2 Logs (1 hollow, big enough to walk through)

    4 Version of Ferns

    2 Rubus Spectabilis

    2 Types of Rhododendron

    2 Types of Azalea

    4 Types of grasses

5 Types of ground sticks and branches for the ground/forest floor.

    3 Types of Large Boulders

    3 Types of Medium Rocks/Stones

    3 Types of Smaller Rocks

    Various Fungus (Mushrooms)

    Other Stuff

    River Bed Model/Texture

4 variations of Stone walls for paths

    Old Wooden bridge

    2 HDRI Sky Maps

3 Types of ground textures that will include depth maps for tessellation.

Numerous other textures for vertex paining (moss, dead leaves etc.)

**I will update this list as it grows. Please feel free to add suggestions.

Mushrooms and fungus types that would be common on the forest floors or growing on the damp tree trunks would be an awesome addition. I love the look of the screens you shared and look forward to seeing more!
