    Hi

Recorder seems to have NOT been updated for almost a year now (June 2022).
Is there a roadmap of recorder, is it still being worked on/improved etc?

    Hey there!
Yes we are still working on the Recorder package! The 4.0.1 release is in the pipeline and should be out shortly. Our team is also working on 5.0.0 which will be out soon after that. For specific features we're working on, you can also check out our roadmap here. Just look for the items with the [Recorder] tag on them.

Hopefully 5.0.0 will fully support 360 rendering with DXR and pathtracing with accumulation and denoising workflows.
360 is a big part of what we do and currently we either do it with traditional DCC and offline rendering, or we use another popular realtime engine for such things because at the moment this does not work in Unity with the current recorder

Ah I see in the "under consideration" section there's already various 360 requests. This is awesome! Please make it "In Progress"!

In addition to this, I'd also upvote the various other bits mentioned there for recorder:
    • 360 rendering (dxr and pathtracing with accumulation, denoising and post effects)
    • Multichannel EXR
    • Cryptomatte (you need multichannel exr for this)
    • Lineasr depth AOV
    • AOV to work with pathtracing

We make CG films and comp CG into live footage and a lot of that is also 360 based. We have multiple artists comping in After Effects, Blackmagic Resolve/Fusion.
Down the line however we may possibly ditch After Effects in favour of Blackmagic Fusion and or Nuke. So all these goodies in Recorder "under consideration" are majorly important to us.
