Record Animation with "Optitrack" System

    Hi Everyone!

    I have some very complex animations to make for a several character.
    For this i can use Optitrack room :) !
    I have a few question for you guys:

    1. How can i record the session- i need it as animations of course. do i need an external tool? or i have it in unity?
    2. have someone tried optiteack animation with Mixamo character ?
    3. What is the best practice to get it done? record in 3DS\Maya and import to unity? Record in Unity (i guess that it is an option)

    I'd love to hear from your experience guys!

    There's someone with some kind of experience in Optitrack system?

    Is it this system you are planning to use? I haven't tried it myself but it appears to cover pretty much for motion capture using cameras, and markers. They appears to have plugins for Unity, tested with Unity 2020.1.16, and 2021.3.15, and Maya, and MotionBuilder, and more.

    And you will probably need some budget for using it.

    Yeah, of course i have visited their site, and downloaded the software..
    Yet, i need to understand what is the recording procedure..

    3ds max way certainly works, can bake the recorded animation keys (i think it didnt work otherwise last time.. many many years ago), i think in max could also clean it up/optimize?

    live view in unity also works, then if find suitable plugin to record those positions into animation, that could work also.
    not sure if Unity Recorder (for gameobjects) would work with characters?

    Hi Guys,
    Thank you for the help!
    So i tried it myself (i thought i can get ready before i'm arriving the optitrack lab) and as you said mgear, it can be baked in 3ds max, and export it to an FBX file, containing the animation.
