    I am curious, what is the reason/inspiration behind this picture. Got to admit, to me this picture is a little odd

    He's definitely not who you would expect as a character to represent Unity 5 and in that way it's kinda refreshing and amusing. I do wonder though if the campy pose was intentionally meant to be funny or if it's supposed to be taken as serious.

    I absolutely LOVE that it is a guy with a porn 'stache rather than some bimbo elf with no clothes on staring into an abyss. Embrace the new.

    I think it's hilariously awesome. The only thing that bugs me is hes wearing shoes and putting his feet on that nice sofa... :(

    What is odd to me is why you single out the moustache... are you saying if the character did not have a moustache you would not find it odd? LOL

    Yeah feet-on-couch is a turn off, but this is outerspace (or something). So long as he didn't step in xenomorph goo he is probably not tracking mud from outside....

    I find this weirdo significantly less offensive than the military style demo project we had a few years ago. He looks kind of weird but rumor has it he has a PhD ... so don't judge a book by its cover, okay?

    Personally I think it's hilarious. I had a stupid grin on my face when I first checked the Unity 5 page today. It's a "yeah that's right, Unity 5 is out, what of it?" kinda pose.

    This. Our industry has enough stereotypical "hot chick" mascots with unrealistic boob dimensions and physics. I like Dr. Charles Francis for being a welcome change to that theme.

    He gives me hope and strength. Whenever I am stuck now I just imagine his strong yet soft hand touch mine and as we move the mouse together I hear his velvet voice explaining all about reflection probes.

    The mustache is inspired by my avatar, they just decided that people won't be able to handle such an amazing mustache as mine so they went with a less fancy mustache and attire.
