Are there any pros out there that care to reveal industry secrets on how to achieve realistic car engine sounds? I have looped files and change pitch according to gear but it sounds cheap and very digitized.

    A car engine sound?
Which type of car do you have in mind?

Okay, that will be tough to find. The legit sound packs on the internet, cost $249 to $300 dollars, for a complete legit sound pack, of the sounds from that car. Especially if the sounds, are from the classic 1991 version of the car.

yeah but what I'm talking about is not the actual engine sound itself but how its implemented in code. I have real engine sound files that sound realistic by themselves but when you put them in a game and just change the pitch according to the RPMs like most tutorials I've followed, they lose all the real world sound and become cheap and digitized. I would love to see how the newer Need For Speed games or pretty much any Simulator actually implements the sound files in code.
