Real-time GI with premade level chunks, ("semi-procedural" world)

    Is there a way to have level chunks (rooms) use real-time GI if they are to be translated/rotated to assemble a semi-procedural world at runtime? There is mention of future support of this in an old Unity real-time GI blog post, but I haven't been able to find a way to do it in 5.5.0f3 (Windows 64 bit).
    This trick to get it working described by @Kuba doesn't seem to work, or I don't understand it.
