This is a realistic RC chopper simulation that is fully physics driven, it's part of my vehicle simulation package. - Video Preview - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20429633/RC%20Heli/RC%20Heli.html - Screenshots -
This is great considering I fly a tricopter. Can you make a multirotor heli as well or allow me to build one. Would love to buy this in the asset store to put in my own terrain and objects to practice with!!!
Wait, physics driven as in you use scripts to apply torque to the rotors, and the physics makes the helicopter lift off? I didn't think it could do THAT!
RC choppers have much smaller weight so they are much harder to control because it takes just a little force to unbalance them, some of them are using second blade like a stabilizer for counter rotation force.
I have added stability control slider, now you can choose between more stability-less simulation and less stability-more simulation. - Screen -
This is a my first tricopter simulation test flight. Simulation is fully physics driven and its nothing like helicopter simulation, controlling three motors to maintain stability is very challenging. For now just a few pictures. - Screenshots -
Very good point on the IMU... and google waypoint integration with GIS so you can run a real world RC in atonomous mode! and send back the telemetric and FPV video data!! Like a ardupirate http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1286011 I could go on!!!
