Video Raw Image or Camera?

Could anyone explain to me the differences between using a raw image + render texture vs straight to the far or near plane of a camera?

Playing around so far I found:
    • To camera seems to have a slightly smaller pause when switching videos. It is not seamless, which is my ultimate goal.
    • With render texture/raw image combo I am able to use multiple videoPlayers (one to play, one to prepare the next video) and switch between them simply with an internal variable (activePlayer). When going straight to camera, I am unable to do this because the last frame of the previous video remains 'frozen' on the screen unless I disable the videoPlayer, in which case I get a couple of empty frames as the clip is changing.
In all cases I have prepared the videos before playing them.

Any info would greatly appreciated, thankyou!
