    Hi!

I'm working on an r.i.s.k type of game, but where you fight your wars yourself with your army, instead of throwing dices.

Currently i'm working on the war system.
I have made an prototype of the war system and I wanted to get some feedback, before I continue the work.
    Here is the link:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5394772/WarGame/WebPlayer/WebPlayer.html

    Controls:
    .R - restart
    .Left mouse key - attack
    .right mouse key - block
(you can hold A and D while attacking or blocking to attack and block, left and right)
.W and S - walk forward and backward
.rotate the player with mouse movement

Some of the stuff i really want feedback on is the gameplay, but if you got other feedback, ideas or comments i really want to hear them too.

please remember that this is still in prototyping, so the models isn't the best :D

    Screens:

    Thanks!

It's a cool idea, but very basic at the moment. I'll keep my eye out for updates.

Moving forward and back both caused me to move down under the world.

I like this, but it seems that when you move into one of your teammates afterwards your character just falls to his face. theres no way of getting back up, but then you can just bounce around on the floor like a fish until you get into a battle.

    Hi everybody!

I fixed some bugs and updated the webplayer

The characters shouldn't be able to fall down anymore.
There is still some bugs, and I'm working on it.
If you see any bugs please tell me.

Now I will begin working on some basic archers and continue on bugfixing.

I'm thinking of adding an third unit, but im not sure if I should keep the game medieval and add some horsemen or catapults or should I make it fantasy and add some magicians? what do you think?

    Keep feedbacking and commenting!

    thanks!

    Hi!

@BeDo, thanks for the comment! :D I'm working on making the player able to move around while in combat mode, and if the player walks too long away from the target, the combat mode will be cancelled and the player can move freely again.

I will update the webplayer soon with the new version!

    thanks for the comments!

Cool idea! So it'll be like Risk and Mount Blade put together in a way?

    Hi!

@Butlertron, thanks! Yes, the idea was to make an Risk type of game, and when you attack or get attacked, the game would change scene to an war type of game just like Mount and Blade, where you fight your own battles.

    thanks for the comment!

    UPDATE

    - Tweaked targeting system: now if archers gets attacked by swordmen, they will draw there sword and change their target to the attacking swordman
    - Player is now able to move forward/backward in combatmode: so if the player moves too long away from his target, the combatmode will be deactivated and the player can move around freely again
    - Arrows doesnt disapear after hitting its target, but instead stays on the target
    - BattleSetting system: loads the army and places them in formation and starts the battle
    - BattleSetting GUI for testing: you can set the army size for both armies

Check out the webplayer and comment on it:

    Thanks

    Hi!

    Current state of the WorldMap:

Im almost finished with the world map. I just need to work on some GUI and optimize the script.
I will soon begin working on the swordmen and archer models (with their 3 different armor levels, your can upgrade).

    thanks!

    Hi Muhsin,

How did you develop the map, especially the different regions to have their own boundaries and to be clickable?

    Cool game btw!

    Hi trumpets
glad to see you showing interest to my project.

It has been a while since I last worked on this project(if you look at my last post... it has been over a year. wow O.O)

At that time the world map was very at the beginning of development.
As I remember, I made invisible(mesh renderer was disabled) planes on each regions and attached an script to each of these planes.
the script included the OnMouseOver() and OnMouseExit() functions.
In the OnMouseOver() function I checked if the player was clicking his mouse button. if he did, then that region got selected.

I hope you understand, else leave me a comment.

    taking suggestions still ?

maybe zoom in/out the map into more dense layers like country->roads->Village -> street ->House To House
and liberal sprinkling of the assets you made.

I think this is a nice idea. Risk is an awesome game and by making it visual it could become even more awesome.
    Good luck with your game.

    Hi!

It has been a long time since I last worked on this project, but I'm glad to see that some people still are interested in it! :)
I don't even know where the project is on my computer, but if I ever continue this project again, I will start from the beginning.

You are always welcome to write me a PM, if you have some questions. I will try to answer them as good as I can.

    Thanks!
