Looking for any info on their upcoming Quixel Suite. Any users here? The hobbyist price is only $99, looks pretty cool. Difficult to learn? The videos make it look easy. Still looking for the pricing on the Megascan files.
The old versions of NDO and DDO are now free to try. If you look for the legacy link at the bottom of the pages http://dev.quixel.se/ddo http://dev.quixel.se/ndo It's a great set of tools and simple to use. But it is essentially a plugin for Photoshop, it's not independent like Substance Designer.
Wanted to chime in, the Quixel Suite looks amazing and i think it will have a very big impact on artists working with PBR It's absolutely nothing whatsoever like Substance Designer, the way it's 'procedural' is in an entirely different fashion, so you can't really compare the products - moreover it actually uses the strengths of photoshop to leverage a lot of power with some clever thought from those guys over there in Quixel land I find nDo extremely useful, dDo not so, but this will change fairly soon Have a video
Yeah, first attempt stifled: Trying to import simple mesh (.obj, triangles), doesn't import. Waiting for verification to PolyCount forums (3 hours) to see if this is mentioned.
Bummer! I'm looking over some old dDo demos to get sharpened up, where did you make the mesh? no crazy geometry in there or weird transform? Have you tried any other obj?
Exported the .obj mesh out of max 2015 using the default gw::OBJ-Exporter, Faces set to Triangles. Just Box object with a few Material IDs, and face extrusions. No, not tried any other .OBJ files, that is a good idea.
