Questions regarding Camera Settings for 2.5D side scroller game

    Hello

    I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for ideal camera angles / settings for a side scroller 2.5D game.
    Bsically 3D environment and objects but just a side view.

    Obviously the normal side view wouldn't be ideal since it limits the view of the 3D environment.

    Here's what I have tried so far:
    I tried increasing the Camera's Y axis and rotating it in X axis so it kinda points slightly down.

    I think it's probably something as simple as that but I'm just wondering if there's something very obvious I'm missing or if there's something completely different I need to do.

    if my description doesn't make much sense, please take a look at these example screenshots. These are some of the games that have inspired me.
