Resolved Question about upcoming Client-side Prediction with Reconciliation

    Hi!

    I would like to ask if the upcoming Client-side Prediction with Reconciliation (on the netcode roadmap) would work with 2D Physics too or is this feature gonna be just aimed at 3D Physics?

    (I know it should include Physics based on the dev blitz day QA on Discord)

    I am working on a physics-based 2D multiplayer game with server-authorative physics system and I wonder whether I should wait for this solution or I need to make my own.

    @Volshar it looks like this is still "To be defined".

    it really depends upon your planned product release date (in six months, a year, or longer?).
    If it is sooner than later, then you might need to implement this yourself.

    Last question please. Does it mean that you are deciding how to do it or deciding if it is going to be done at all?

    My project will take longer so waiting a year won’t be the biggest issue. I was just wondering if there is something to wait on.

    It's on our roadmap, but anything could happen one year from now. In general, for commercial projects, I would suggest to work with the tools that exist today, as the ones who are planned to come out might never see the light of day.
