Hi! I am currently learning Unity and right now I'm re-downloading Unity 5 because mine is is out of date (sitting at version 4.5, never used it as much before) and since I want to learn how to create/make games and being motivated, I decided that I will start a simple project before proceeding to a professional type. I am planning to make a simple Space Shooter game and since I found a tutorial from Unity (http://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/projects/space-shooter-tutorial) it is much easier to understand. My question is, can this work in Unity 5? the tutorial is out of date, but since I'm planning to make a Space Shooter type of game and tutorials made by Unity is easy to understand (watched some episodes) is it still viable? Thanks!

Mostly still valid. The one thing you will have to watch for is the quick accessors are gone.

So rigidbody gets replaced with GetComponent<Rigidbody>() and so forth.

No matter what, upgrade. Things will go forward always, you have no reason to be stuck with an old version.
