Question Quest Link not working with URP?

    Hi there.
    I've been experimenting with the URP and Spacewarp on Quest 2 this week... and it's building well and running smooth... with one weird issue.

    Any projects I enable the URP on stop working with the Oculus Link.
    If I use the built-in renderer and the Oculus Plug-in for PC, the link works fine.
    If I used the URP the game runs in the editor... but freezes on the HMD (stuck at the Unity loading panel).
    If I switch to the OpenXR plug-in, the game seems to run on the HMD OK.
    I'm using...
    • Unity 2021.3.6f1
    • URP v 12.1.6 (special SpaceWarp version for 2021.2)
    • Oculus XR v3.0.2
    Is anyone else seeing this? Suggestions most welcome as it could stuff my iteration time! :(

    Try the urp sample project without any custom URP etc.
    Just the default and add a simple VR player. Then you find out if it's an URP issue or about your project. (Probably the latter)

    Also try with the regular URP version for that Unity version first, then try the special version if that works

    OK... after a bit of sleuthing I worked it out.
    Enabling Application Space Warp in the experimental Vulkan features on the Android Oculus plug-in (in XR settings) stops Quest Link Play Mode from working. Frustrating... but easy to work around. :D

    That is only supported using custom URP yes. And only for the quest 2 natively

    For sure... but it shouldn't stop Quest Link working when playing the game in the editor. Something fishy is going on there. :D

    Did you set up the project properly for app spacewarp? (custom URP, etc?)

    Maybe update to the latest unity lts?

    If anyone still having this problem, what worked for me is to initialize Oculus in the Plug-in Providers section for the PC platform not only for Android, when I checked "Oculus" option it worked fine

    Just saved my life, Link stopped working in the middle of my project and I had no clue what caused it for weeks. Just disabled it and its working fine now.
