PVRTC preview within Unity iPhone

I'd like to preview PVRTC compression within Unity without opening XCode.

I noticed that Unity iPhone is currently showing me a preview once the project is built and is on it's way to XCode. I'd prefer to have an option to do whatever processing is required to see this preview without opening XCode. It would make the process of weeding out PVRTC artefacts much more convenient.

 

Do you have "Compress Textures when importing" turned on in your preferences?

 

You need to enable compress textures on import, and then you can use this to help visualize the artifacts.
