PSD color matte change in 2018.2

    I already did, and they said to use PNGs instead. But then I guess they didn't know that this many people are dependent on this feature.

    yea feedback is closing soon, so good to get it in before it shuts down.

    +1 for keeping this feature, I even tried to follow their guide on alpha in the docs but it still makes all my shadows in sprites layered with white. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what is happening here.

    @LeonhardP can you forward these concerns to the devs.
    we dont want to have many steps for something that used to work.
    We need photoshop files with layers to work well. not just a single alpha channel.

    Hi everybody, thanks for bringing this to our attention. After considering your feedback, the team decided to revert the removal of this functionality and it will be brought back to 2018.3 and onward in the following weeks.

    Thanks for listening to the feedback, I am using 2019.1.0f2 but the warning message about the PSD matte is still there in the import settings, will this message be removed in future versions? Or the message will be there forever?

    Also seeing that box in 2018.4.2f1. The deprecated part of that warning message is concerning. The feature should not be deprecated, and the message should be downgraded to an Info box instead of a Warning.

    The very minor tradeoff in quality is well worth the workflow. Stuff like this irks me for choosing a closed source engine where we have no control over when or if Unity decides to deprecate this and cause massive, pointless rework down the line.

    I'm concerned about this warning box as well. What does this mean for the future?
