    Hey guys!
After 5 years of work it is time to start getting some feedback from you.
    This is our first Teaser

Crying is not Enough is a third person game that belongs to Action Adventure / Horror Survival genre.
The player has to face enemies, using weapons and other survival mechanisms. He has to solve various puzzles and make progress by slowly unfolding the story.
The game has influences from game titles that left their own mark in the Horror survival genre.
Initially we aim to release the title on Steam and immediately after on Ps4 and Xbox One.

    Hi Akismi,

You certainly have some decent visuals in the trailer showing some promise.

With a 5 year dev time and Q1 2018 release, your game must basically already be complete. Is there a reason you don't have a more detailed trailer? It shows none of the puzzle solving elements nor any survival techniques beyond the usual FPS aiming guns at the enemy.

I'm presuming that the Ps market is going to be a tough nut to crack but this looks like it could have some potential. Best of luck.

    Thank you Doug :)
We will upload a new trailer showing some gameplay soon.
Being a small team, time is hard to manage. There are still some things to do (Last polish, Localization) so combining development with marketing is a hell for us :p

    Best regards

I think you should take a 2 week break (as a team) and not touch, not talk, not look at this thing. Then when you get back you will see all the problems you can't right now.

5 years of dev deserves 2 week break.

What other marketing/promo efforts have you been performing during the entire development cycle?
I ask because - this is the very first time - EVER seeing this game. Over 5 years maybe some promotional opportunities were passed up.

Have you ever done that before hippo - so close to release?
That would probably last about 4-6 hours unless strong pad locks were put in place to keep everyone out. They are so close -

Alas - this is probably a good idea -

Similar to those occasions where, after spending all day banging your head against a brick wall on a particular problem, you go home, sleep on it and on looking at it again the next morning the solution becomes immediately apparent.

Definitely deserves 2 weeks break :D
Since we didnt have much to show, we left aside the marketing. Now we are going to hit it hard!
More detailed trailer will come soon! Maybe we will show a sneak from the riddles ;)

Lol i used to do that when i couldnt crack a riddle on RE or Silent Hill or any other games tbh

Looks pretty nice! The gameplay/visuals look great! Only problem with the trailer I can see is the typography.. It's pretty mmmm...not good compared to the rest of the stuff you are showing. If someone on your team knows aftereffects you could probably whip something up easy. OR license a template from videohive or something

Very stunning visual, the font on the trailer can change to something feels horror instead of default Arial. Adobe After Effects is a big plus if you know how to use. In overall, it successfully caught player's eyes, well done.

5 years of development is very long. I have my respect for your passion. Warning: A lot of indie developers disbanded after releasing a high quality AAA game. The reason is very simple, not enough money to cover back development budget. Technologies evolve in light speed, you should rethink your strategy and selling points at some points.

Another advice is I strongly not recommended to put on Steam as first release. You can release on XBox and PlayStation first then only release on Steam after one or two years when you feels your game is almost forgotten by players. This is a strategy too. Also for another reason. PM me if you interested to know.;)

The trailer reminded me of The Evil Within, which I recently played and enjoyed. Looking forward to some game-play videos, perhaps I'd enjoy Crying is not Enough as well!

PS: Do you have some dev-blog? Some dev info's would be interesting as well, such as what Unity versions you use, do you use any 3rd party assets, etc. What was the biggest challenge with Unity while creating the game.

This looks really cool. Have you been working on it full time for the past 5 years?

I like it. Enjoyed the visuals and overall atmosphere. Is it open world or a sequential storyline? Out of interest, how big is the total game world?

It's a storyline but it is not linear. Well. the speedrun is like 2:30 - 3 hours but we know the riddles + you have to do a good management of the ammo and good use of the radio ;)
