I was thinking about this for a while and now finally put together a prototype. My idea was to make a mobile game that utilizes special use of the touch input. This game is about a stickman that wants to escape the notebook that he was drawn in (story might change:D) It is basically a platformer, but once you enter a special draw mode you will be able to draw environment, and once you exit the draw mode whatever you drew will start interacting with everything else (physics, collisions, etc) What do you think? Should I continue working on this or is it so bad that I should just pretend it never happened? Any criticism will be highly appreciated!

I made a playable prototype for browser.

I made a reddit post about the whole situation with this game, if you are interested in reading it, you can do it here

And feel free to tell me what you think!

I personally love your idea. I'm no industry expert, but I really want to play this....really really!

Looks like a lot of fun. I think you should develop this one.

    This is super cool.

My thoughts are, this would make an interesting ipad only game (no compromises for smaller screens / universal app). This screams Ipad :D keep it simple, make it polished and develop 'steady' game mechanics /physics implementation and voila.
Make that little stickman everyone's secretly new friend.

yes. otherwise, I take it ;)

Really cool concept and great advice to follow,,, except - if you haven't already - check out animation vs animator and the numerous sequels on youtube. If you haven't seen it - may give you some over the top explosive scope creep ideas, but best to keep it simple for first iteration.

hey rockethamster I found this (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/38682) today in the asset store. I know, hey it's just some nice shadowing system but I would like such a look (not too dark, just for having a lovely contrast) in your game. my problem with simplified stickman graphics mostly is, that plain colors are used, or just a white background, which always looks...mhhh..unappealing or cheap. I don't know for sure, if the asset I posted is capable of all this user-input-realtime-drawing stuff but I thought even just from the screenshots this could be something inspirational for your project. or just add some vignetting..
I would try to keep is simple, yes, but I personally think that most games with that plain doodle jump artstyle look somewhat cheap :/

I will definitely check it out. As to the look, what you saw is just a prototype, designed to show very basic mechanics. It will definitely look different in the end.

Ok, yes you should really build this. And since it's such a creative thing, consider doing alternate modes too like time trials, story (normal). And put lots of secret power ups that are tricky to figure out how to obtain. That'll add replay value and give them extra stuff to try for :D
