    Hello everyone,
We are a small team of developers excited to announce our first Unity game, Project Shift, which is a 2.5D action side scroller.

= Updates will go here =

    Update 11.05.2015.
    Gameplay Video:

Sorry for no audio. We still don't have someone to help us with sounds and music.

    Update 10.05.2015.
    We have released small hotfix.
"Fixed" character collision - disabled shrinking of character collision when jumping to prevent falling through platforms. Some adjustments on 1st level to make it easier.
    We also made webplayer version:

    Update 27.04.2015.
Our goal was to learn the Unity engine by making a simple video game that would be manageable by a small team working together for the first time. After four months of development, we are happy to present the Project Shift Beta release.

= Updates will go here =

    About the Game:
Project Shift is a straightforward platformer game in which the goal is to escape from each level as you are being chased by a robotic guardian. During the race against this relentless opponent, the player must avoid other dangerous enemies, traps, and deal with various challenges along the way.

The player is aided by his companion, a drone that can shoot projectiles at enemies. The projectiles cause the enemies to enter a ghost-like state, rendering them unable to see or harm the player, temporarily allowing the player to pass through them.

*As this is our beta release and still very much a work in progress, there are still various bugs and known issues.

    About the Team and Progress:
Hi, my name is Danijel Lendvaj (Croatia) and I am the Project Lead.
I have started working on this project with Sebastian Kumor (US), a programmer, in January 2015.
Sebastian wrote most of the project’s code. While I did all of the visuals for the game, designed the gameplay and mechanics, as well as handled the team and production management.

Another programmer, Michael “Kuhmaus” Cenger (Austria), joined us when we were about a month into development.
He wrote code on Chaser enemy unit and he worked on certain sequences, like when player is captured by Chaser enemy or level complete sequence.

Maria Savenko (Russia) is our most recent and third programmer.
She dealt with Devices (Jump Pad, Floor Fire Trap, Activation Buttons) functions and their interactions.
And poked into various other mechanics as well.

    Honorable Mentions:
    Felipe Chavez (US)
    Concept Artist

    Greg Iwaniec (Sweden)
    Sound Effects

    Special Thanks:
    Davor Sironić (Croatia)
    Billy French (US)
    Lee Eastaff (UK)

    Our Future Goals:
We are excited about what our small team has accomplished so far but now we are looking for additional members to take our project to the next stage.

It's like Mighty 9 kickstarter game. It doesnt looks bad, but generic and bland.
Too much lightening everywhere is bad, mixing less lighten areas on shadow with strong lit ones will brong more deep to the game visuals and shadow areas will allow ou to highlight some stuff and some emissive lights.

    Keep improving.

I did not start the project originally. So I just carried with what I had. I was dedicated to finish it. It is true that is a bit bland, but this is not final version. We did not have enough time to really make it as a final game yet.
I think this a very good template and has some unique mechanics we can expand quite a lot and get really unique gameplay out of it :) .
Feature to turn enemies into ghosts is mechanic we plan to build around here.

Yeah, visuals are not final. Scane isnt baked, lighting isnt tweaked much at all. But I would say it looks fairly decent.
There is a lot to improve upon for sure. I just did not have time for it. There-is-just-soo-much :D .
This is Unity 4. We are moving to Unity 5 where I'll improve visuals.

Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate it. Helps us improve upon things :) .

    EDIT:
Added gameplay video and we also plan to share public trello board (webpage) soon where everyone will be able to provide suggestions and report bugs.

Hey tigerija - I'm not going to comment on lighting because I think it's subjective in how you have it implemented.
The one thing that caught my eye was the brown dust/explosions. They just seem to be a little too cartoony compared to the rest of the game.
It looks a little fun already, but I'm guessing you have some additional mechanics to incorporate.

    Keep it up. Nice work.
