    Unity 2019.3.8f1, ProBuilder 4.2.3

New project. New Scene. Make cube shape. Apply simple colour material. Press play. The object disappears, then reappears without the material, reverting to default blue colour. On pressing stop, the new material has been removed in the properties inspector.

I'm new to Probuilder. Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT. More unusual behaviour. If I delete the stairs I first made, and press play the stairs re-appear (same configuration). And then any new scene I create also gets its own copy of the stairs.

This is the Shape Editor preview. Leaving a mesh behind in play mode is fixed in 4.3.0, which should be available in the next few days.

    Thank-you for your reply.

Now I understand. Probuilder is adding a new shape exactly on top of the old shape, which is why it appears that the material I added is being deleted!

Look forward to the 'leaving behind mesh' fix in 4.3.0.
