Question PROBUILDER: Booleans

I have never gotten them to work. But I see videos where Youtube creators are demonstrating how it works. Can someone explain how THEY can get it to work? Currently, I'm using the latest LTS build and the most recent version of Probuilder. I really don't want to have to spend the time learning a different modeling tool, but the inability to use booleans is forcing me in that direction.

 

Assuming you see the tool, start from success:

- make two cubes

- adjust them so they slightly intersect

- open the wizard with tools -> probuilder -> experimental -> boolean csg

- drag the two cubes in there

- select an operation

- Press APPLY

Tada!

Wow, neat. I'd start by blowing away the probuilder software and reinstalling it afresh.

Yes, I've tried it in several projects. Installed, uninstalled, reinstalled. Crashes each and every time. I believe it can be done; I've seen videos where it works perfectly. But for me, it's just a faster way to close a project.

 

Is there something newer than the 2021.3 LTS? Because I've been using Unity for eight years. Does Probuilder Booleans crash to desktop even in an otherwise clean install.

 

I have used both the 2019 and 2018 LTS in the past, and it doesn't work there.
