    Hi all,

I have a problem with the models I have imported into Unity. As you can see in this screen capture, the ceiling is an odd green/gold color. Same thing with the window arches:

The model was created in SketchUp Make 2015 and imported as described in the Unity manual (http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/HOWTO-ImportObjectSketchUp.html). For your reference, I have attached screen captures of the Inspector Panel for the ceiling mesh:

Inspector Panel for the import settings:

Inspector Panel for the directional light:

From what I can tell by examining the model in Unity, it seems that light is going through the mesh. The screen capture with the cross section of the wall shows that the other side of the mesh is white, whereas the other side is the odd green/gold color. I checked the normals in SketchUp and they all are pointing the correct way.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem (e.g, change workflow, tweak settings) would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking for several days for a solution online, and it's finally time to seek expert advice. Many thanks in advance for your suggestions and effort.

    Hi doktorfrag

This looks like reflection map in the scene is causing these yellow areas to appear on anything that is facing in the negative Y axis.

    Thanks,
    Pete

Thank you for the feedback, Pete. I have been looking around for the reflection map setting, specifically anything that indicates a negative Y axis, and can't find them. Are they in the inspector panel? Any pointers on where to make a change so that the yellow ceilings disappear would be appreciated. Sorry, but it's been a while since I have worked with Unity and I'm getting back into it.

    No problem,

Normally a reflection probe is placed in the scene so a snap shot of the reflections at the point can be applied to the objects within it's radius. There is a setting to turn off the amount of influence the reflections have with in the scene under the new lighting panel Reflection intensity:

If you still have problems, could you send a light version of you're project with the scene and assets being affected please?

    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi Pete,

I was able to adjust the reflection intensity in the lighting panel, but the ceiling still remained yellow. Albeit not as bright. I can send you the project as a ZIP folder through my Dropbox site. What's the best way to make a "light version" of the project? What resources should I remove before compressing?

No problem, if you zip up the scene you're having problems with, along with any models and textures referenced in that scene. You can private message me through the Unity forums with the Dropbox address if you do not want to post the project publicly.

    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi David.

The lighting you see is linked to the ambient light using the skydome as it's colour lookup. you can change this to a particular colour or a gradient which will fix the look of the lighting in realtime. i quickly did a lightbake with the current ambient settings where it gets the colours from the skybox and the problem goes away once the bake has completed.

The level and the cube on the left has been baked where as the cube on the right is using the realtime lighting.

Thank you so very much, Pete! I appreciate your help. I will fiddle around with the environmental light settings, now that I know where to find them. I'm just happy the yellow colored ceiling is gone. Many thanks, again, and have a great day!
