Users can make money from unity cartoon, unity movie, video tutorials, make flat earth videos or round earth video, etc all generated from ads unlike google ads rating systems. Unity will have digital currency where you can buy assets, download full games, even food, maybe a house. For example, users can't experience what's inside the cruise ship. No virtual walkthroughs. You just play the video that's all. You can't go inside.

Unity 10 looks something like this or webplayer.

Honestly this thread would be too far out of left field for him. His threads tend to be more realistic than this.

Why I support Unity building new OS video game consoles & OS for future computers?

1. Run PC faster & make photorealistic game we never seen before
2. motivate employees
3. By the year 2020-2030. Users go back Time machine forum. "OMG... Unity OS was create here!!!"
4. Seeing bright future
5. Keep video games fans happy at CES

Let me see...uhm..... I'm using educated guess here. Maybe make games run faster, photorealistic, smarter AI. Second reason...Mom and dad don't want game apps on PC; they want business applications such as spreadsheet, turbotax, and don't want kids to screw up the machine. Third, College kids can't afford to buy high end pc and develop games. Fourth, unity webplayer looks like apple bootload screen. But on the browser it's very small and distracting. Asking for trust - "Do you trust unity webplayer?" Firth, requires to update unity player but not backward game compatible. Sixth, too many operating system updates and causing unity to update substrings. Programmers lose interest programming. Seventh, Hackers have experience hacking windows, Linux, mac and Google. Eight, Anti-virus will appear Unity exe or webplayer as virus.

Ninth, youtube video.... user click photorealism videos. OMG I just click unreal engine video. youtube video ads is based on rating systems; they ignore inferior. the inferior can't make money. Girlie makeup tutorials make more money than Unity tutorial videos. Some girls can program unity. youtube video confuses unity game makers. You can't tell if GTA or Unity.

 

Err, no. It pretty much has same chances of happening as Unity suddenly building their own space station. OS development is not related to gamedev.

I also think there will be no Unity 10, and version after Unity 2017 will be year-numbered.

 

Unless Microsoft buys out Unity.

Oh, you think that Unity will make an OS because Microsoft will never improve Windows and Apple won't update MacOS to keep up with the times? All of a sudden the OS giants are going to stop improving PCs for games and Unity will create their OS. Ok, makes sense...

Apparently mom and dad haven't heard about "User Account Control". It's pretty cool in Windows, you should check it out. I'm pretty sure Apple has something similar.

You don't need high-end PCs to make games. If you're targeting mobile almost anything for $300+ will work, especially if you go used or upgrade a PC yourself. Unity's OS isn't going to magically make a Celeron + Intel HD outperform a i7 + GTX 1080 running Windows.

Apparently you've never heard of WEBGL, webplayer is so 2014. And how is "looking like Apple bootload screen" even an argument? It looks like the Windows 10 or Android bootload screen to me...

Umm, what? You think Unity will make its own OS because that's easier than patching for an update? And by the way I've used Unity for 2 years and never had a Windows update break Unity. And Windows is supposed to be worse at updates than MacOS, yet still nothing broken here.

And magically the Unity OS will be unhackable, and hackers won't be able to learn how to hack it.

The future will always be Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android and maybe SteamOS if that ever takes off. Oh, SteamOS is actually modded Linux, so that leaves us with 4 OSs.
