Retopology is hard. My retopology models end up as 30k - 40k polygons. I can get them in at around 10k-15k polygons. My question! Is 30k-40k the range game developers are willing to buy. Considering the LOD generation software. What do game developers want? I can get the software and generate LOD models to include with the higher rez model.

I think because of the auto LOD generation software, game developers want higher rez models.

LOD not matter, if you making model should be relatively low poly count, for high res details bake normal/displacement map

no this is not satisfactory, u using auto topo tool. Poly count can be significantly reduce

How many polygons? 10k and less? Whats a good range for making the model?

I mean that seems too dense to me for what it is. It could have half or less of the polygons and it wouldn't look much different.

Unless of course you are supposed to go super close up to it, but then the textures don't look like they would hold up.
