Hi, If i painted a object with polybrush and replaced it with a new updated mesh, the mesh in my scene didn't update. I noticed that it is using a new mesh when I am using polybrush which is the reason why the mesh didn't update with the new one.

Right now the only way to update is to delete the vertex streams and repaint it again which is pretty bad solution.

I tried googling around but surprising I can't find anything regarding this.

bump with rephrase question. It is strange that I can't find any topics regarding this question. Quite possible that the solution is really simple and i missed it? Or is it a limitation of this tool.

I believe there is a Polybrush v1.0 coming to the Package Manager soon, which should fix alot of the issues you and others are having. Right now Polybrush is not working well with 2018.3. Gab should have a update for us all soon.

Hi, has this problem been addressed?
If so, how can I update the geometry?

I second this. I often make updates to geometry during production, and when importing new updated geometry, the geometry that has polybrush vertex paint applied does not update whatsoever in my scene. Trying to remove the polybrush mesh filter and revert back to the original mesh filter then vertex paint again is so finicky. It causes so many issues and never works.

@yiyu0117 you can only reset the mesh in the polybrush component, and then update the mesh. You'll need to repaint the vertex color information afterwards. It's a destructive process.

@gabrielw_unity is there any information about the changes?

Hey! Nothing new on this. Polybrush has taken a backseat while we shore up foundation, to enable better tooling overall. We definitely need to get back to it, though. Keep an eye out for research requests (surveys, prototypes, etc)!
