You're right I forgot to look in that spot ! Works now.

However, technically you can still get stuck but you really have to want to get stuck to make it happen lol. If you throw the third red cube or the blue cube in the second to last room and then position yourself just under the door and grab the red cube that keeps the door open. Then, the cube will come down but the door will shut before the cube reaches the other side. Then you will be stuck but again requires some work haha.

Haha! Yeah you can get stuck if you do that, but it's quite difficult and wouldn't happen in gameplay I don't think. I'd have to come up with a contrived solution...hmm I'll think about it.

    Hi all,

I've been working with a very talented concept artist, I thought I'd share some of the work she's done for this title:

really awsome! I like the tron like style it has.

Also, I was playing the demo and looked up at the sky, I really like the skybox you have there.

    Cheers dude,

The 3D art doesn't live up to the concept yet, but maybe one day it will.

I tried the second level. When I grab the cubes from very far away sometimes they just go flying towards me and disappear instead of staying "grabbed". Its strange but I lost one of the blue cubes the first time and could not finish the level because of that. It went flying towards me and then hit the ceiling or something and was nowhere to be found in the room.

    Yeah Pata,

I've seen that a few times, a bug I'll have to address at some point I guess.

Glad you liked it Rush Rage!

    New webplayer!

    * Redesigned the levels slightly to add as much juice and interactivity to every corner of the level.
    * Implemented first pass animated front end system.
    * Fixed the super fast cube drag bug.
    * General polish.

    Hey Ninja,

Your attachment didn't work but there should be instructions on screen at that point.

Ah I know what you mean now.

That's a little bug in the crouch system, just hold C for a second to get into proper crouched mode and you'll get through there no problem.

Second level is great! only issue i found is if you take all cubes with you up to the highest platsform, then fall down, you get stuck down there with no way of getting back up again.

Yeah, that's an issue in a lot of levels. The solution is there will be a reset cube button at the start of each level, for now you can just pause and restart for the same effect. Glad you liked it.

    Ok, so latest webplayer.

*Cut level one and redesigned something simpler, I wasn't happy with how it looked or how it played.
*Started my Pro trial to see what I can get out of it.
    *Added bloom.
    *Added realtime shadows.
    *Level 02 has been tweaked.

    Hi Rush,

That's a shame, try grabbing the older standalone version and see how that runs.

The standalone worked well with no lag (the one in the first post).

Ps I had the graphics setting on good (the default).

I got an extra red cube through the first level, is there any way you could make that an achievement?

Usually if you click new game and nothing happens that's the level loading, try loading another level from the level select.

Looks a lot nicer with bloom and shadows but I have a lot more slowdown, I'm not 100% sure but I think the real time shadows are killing my framerate :(. Have you tried baking the shadows in a lightmap with beast ?

Just started looking at the lightmapping, the realtime shadows are only a test for now as I probably won't be able to afford the licence. I agree it does improve the visuals though.

Like the update! Level 3 is great. The bridges triggered by the red cube behave wierdly if you just hold the cube above socket.

Yeah, it's because they are activated for a moment and then start to animate, then because they animate and you're still holding the cube. Should be a pretty easy fix. Glad you liked it though!

I think it's an amazing idea that you actually have to throw the cubes. It inserts a very primitive form of fun in to the more intellectual fun of solving puzzles, kind of like Portal did.

Yeah I hadn't really considered that, just something I always wished I could do more of. Probably something I should strengthen to differentiate myself too. Thanks for the feedback.

The character controller is new, right? I have encountered a massive framerate drop when I was moving up with the elevator on level 3. This means something well bellow 10 fps.

I must say I really love this project though. How is the concept art coming along?

hey i love this its so like portal i say you should add in multiplayer just an idea probally reallly hard to do if i was you when your progressing through development maybe make a website or have private beta bewtween friends get feed back off them then do a public one see how many people like it then id try sell it on steam price wise i say your looking at a £12.99 game right there

    @oOoJaMz93oOo

Yeah, multi player would be ace. Probably in the sequel :D.

As for the private beta, I'm aiming to release on Ouya in march, so I'd rather keep it a bit more restricted until then.

    £12.99 that's very flattering, I haven't decided on a price yet!

@Leiter Jakab The character controller had added head bob, the frame rate issue was physics related but I've ironed that out. The concept art is nowhere unfortunately, my artist is very busy :(.

A more detailed thread will be posted in the collaboration forum when the mods get around to it but in the meantime if anybody is interested in being part of the project I'm looking for 2D 3D Artists.

Polarity is coming out for Ouya launch in March and is nearly complete from a functional/level design perspective, we just need the artwork.

If you're interested please mail: polarityinfo@gmail.com with examples of your work.

    Thanks!
