    Hello everyone,

    Im learning unity and i wondered what would it take to make a game like zynga or texas poker.

    Is it so hard to start from scratch?

    what should i know before stepping in.
    i need some guide if you can.

    1. Is it against the computer, or network/online multiplayer?

    Starting with Unity on a multiplayer game is a bad idea. Any multiplayer game will be relatively difficult to learn Unity with.

    Also, most multiplayer tutorials involve games where you a syncing positions of 3D objects in a shared game world, but a card game would more likely be designed around just sending messages back and forth between the host and the clients.

    The good thing is poker game mechanics are relatively simple, and there's not a lot of variation in the types of messages you need to send. So as far as multiplayer games go you're talking something not particularly complex.

    But definitely, learning Unity by writing a multiplayer game (even a relatively speaking, simple one) is just being masochistic!
