Please help me choosing a new branding name for my game

[ I´m leaning english]

Making as indie game developer a new glider simulator for historic reasons. The name is "SOARING Simulator". And Pre-Alpha Testers are using SS acronym that might not be the best one. I has this soaring glider passion but my branding is failing here. There will be no guns killing in the game. I wish something that gives freedom and nice hope for the future. So I let you suggest options an let me decide the final name.

Soaring and Clouds are great imagery words. just reading those words I get the image in my head of Supper Man flying though the clouds with Louis lane.

 

How about just "Soaring".

Soaring (link) is a well known wonderful magazine about gliders that inspire me in my childhood and where is inspire the name from.

Is it relaxing or meditative in anyway? GLIDE on its own can imply smooth, calm, easy as well as the physical flying reference to gliding. Otherwise something like SOAR ABOVE could imply a meditative state of empowerment as well.

 

Why not make up something that abbreviates to SOAR?

I'd stay away from all "******* simulator" names, they set the wrong expectations imho.

"Eagle Simulator" has been trademarked, your suggestions may or may not be too close. I'd aim for something more unique, easy to remember and easy to google, with an unoccupied .com domain. Beware, if you use online services to check for free domains, sometimes you'll find your desired domain to be occupied shortly after by a domain squatter. A friend of mine found out the hard way and had to pay a lot more than necessary to get a domain with his own company name...

 

SOAR is pure. Yes is the best name. But is not an option because is a nice game and i can't include it or buy that branding.

I wish you as tester so i can reach your expectations. I will use SoaringSimulator.com so the name must be close to that.

About Eagle: First Use Anywhere Date2014-08-11 is not correct. There is
precedent made in the 1985 link

 

Advanced Soaring is an excellent book that i wish to read. And yes! Advanced is used in this particular sport.
Betta testers will call it ass for short and that is not good.

Is it an accurate simulation? If you call it simulator then people will expect it to be an accurate representation of gliding.

 

Without reading all the reply and quick glance at the selections, I choose Soaring Clouds Simulator 1 immediately. I don't like the numbering tho. What is the point of putting "1" there? And put "simulator" in its own line

Yes but gradually. It will be a retro Game first, then futuristic game scene, then a educational simulator. At that point if all go well I will tell Unity that there is intention of a serous simulator for training (and finally a civil simulator if I'm able). Is a process of knowledge. This is for example the actual stage.

This explanations are just for choosing a better name close to "Soaring Simulator" or "Soaring Clouds".

 

Ok, so it is also educational by stepping through the ages of flight/gliding. You should be ok using simulator without annoying purists.
