There is too much miscommunication around key features in Unity, because you (Unity employees) are not all singing from the same page - between each other or in comparison to the manual.
The Blitz days are only highlighting this.

    • The UI team gave a range of opinions on whether UI Toolkit was ready for runtime use yet!
    • People are suggesting URP is mobile-focused first, but the manual states it is suitable for the whole range of hardware up to high-end & consoles.

    We need clear communication.

The manual is pretty clear (compare different Unity version). 2021.3 does not recommend UI Toolkit at all, 2022.1+ recommends it for the editor. 2023.1 does not yet recommend UI Toolkit for runtime. It does list a few instances where you might prefer UI Toolkit over uGUI at runtime.

I don't see a contradiction between these statements, mobile can be an important focus of URP while it's also suitable for console and high-end.

They all say UI Toolkit is an alternative for UI heavy projects - they have probably been softened since the news that no runtime work will be done on UI Toolkit next year.

Not important - first. "URP's focus is mobile and untethered first. If workflows/features we provide can scale and be supported on untethered devices as well, we make sure the techniques used will be able to scale across.". Sounds like a contradiction
