    Hi all,

I've been using Plastic SCM for a while but in the last 2-3 months I'm now getting an error message whenever Unity starts up with Plastic SCM, when I try to look at branches or checkin changes. The message reads as follows "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."
    upload_2023-2-15_20-12-10.png

When I launch the Plastic SCM app, I get an error message at the top saying "Cannot connect to the Plastic SCM server. Retrying...."
    upload_2023-2-15_20-11-46.png

I checked services.msc and saw that "Plastic SCM Server" isn't running but when I try to start it I get the following message "Windows could not start the Plastic SCM Server service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

I have tried reinstalling both the Plastic SCM unity package and the Windows application. Cleared out the "C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM5" folder. Restarted computer. Allowed Unity through Windows firewall. Tried on a different network and none of them have worked.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Are you using the Plastic Cloud edition installer?

Can you attach your local server logs?
    C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM5\server\plastic.debug.log.txt

    Regards,
    Carlos.

    Hi Carlos,

    Thanks for looking into this.

I'm not sure what edition I'm using. It's the one Unity prompted me to install when I selected "Launch Plastic SCM". In Windows, it says "Codice Software Plastic SCM. Version: 11.0.16.7762"

I'm not sure if this additional information is helpful but here are the project details "Project Settings -> Services"

Additionally when I run plasticd.exe in command prompt (I also tried running plasticd configure server but it doesn't do anything nor throw an error message) I get the message below:

I have tried configuring it using plasticd configure but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to use for the ports and authentication method.

I have attached the plastic.debug.log.txt to my message.

What is your Unity Version Control package version?

Can you reinstall the Plastic Cloud edition by downloading the installer from www.plasticscm.com --> Downloads?

    Regards,
    Carlos.

I've reinstalled Plastic SCM with PlasticSCM-11.0.16.7762-windows-cloud-installer downloaded from the website.
Let me know what I need to do next.

    Thanks

After reinstalling Plastic SCM CLoud edition via www.plasticscm.com, is the client connecting to the server? Is the "Plastic SCM Server" up and running?

Can you attach the Plastic client logs?
    C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\plastic4\logs

It looks like the initial message that I was getting "Cannot connect to the Plastic SCM server." is no longer showing.
However, when I try to update workspace or clicking "Branches" it's now saying "The specified repository couldn't be found: Project Swords".

I've attached some of the logs I'm not sure which you're after.

    Hi,

Are you using local repos? The local repos are located at "C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM\server\jet". I'm guessing if you have deleted it.

You can create a new local repo. Not sure if you pushed the local repo to the cloud. In that case, you can recover it by pulling it from the cloud.

    Regards,
    Carlos.

I believe I have it on the cloud: upload_2023-2-15_23-23-20.png

Is there a way to relink the one in unity locally to the one in the cloud?
Sorry I'm quite new to this!

    Hi,

In Plastic SCM you can work centralized. It means that you don't need to have a local repo but you can directly point your local workspace to the cloud repo. This way, every checkin you perform will be directly done in the cloud repo.

    1. You can rename/remove the ".plastic" folder in the root of your workspace.
    2. Create a new workspace in the same path but this time the workspace pointing to MyRepo@hurbivore@cloud.

Before deleting the workspace, please be sure that you don't have pending to commit changes.

    Regards,
    Carlos.

After cleaning up some conflicts it appears to be pointing to the cloud repo again. Thank you very much for your help!
