Bug Plastic SCM Breaks Animator

    For some reason, I am not allowed to edit any of the animations in my project.

    When I attempt to it disables the "add property" button and doesn't let me drag in new frames. However, the record button seems to work.

    When I scrub the timeline, it disables animator and makes the checkbox blue:

    When I got to the Animator window, I'm given the options to checkout, and if I do, I'm given the options to checkin or revert, neither of which resolve the issue.

    I know it's a plastic issue, as disabling plastic fixes the issue, but it comes back as soon as I reenable it. It also goes away if I delete my plastic.workspace file, but it makes me redownload all my project files again, after which animation's broken again.

    The other members of my team are able to animate fine, it just seems to be an issue with my instance.

    Deleting the project and redownloading didn't work, and neither does upgrading my Unity version and plastic version.

    Deleting the login cache and relogging in also did not work

    I can create animations and then edit them before I check them into plastic, but once the animation is checked in I can no longer edit it.

    Generally the in editor plugin is kinda horrible, the experience is much better if you use the external client.

    Hi @AcidArrow, if you have some issues with the Version Control package, we would like to get your feedback.

    For this post issue, @JoshStyrcula, if I properly understand, there was a problem just if you enable by default the checkout for Unity assets. Can you let us know the details to reproduce the problem? Is it as easy as creating an animation and trying to edit it?

    I can see you are using a pretty old version of the Version Control package. Could you upgrade?

    Were other members of your team not affected by this problem?

    Check my original post for screenshots, but if I click the cog on the unity version control panel and "enable manual checkout" it makes it so I cannot edit any animation that is in my plastic version control. I upgraded to version control 2.0.5 and that didn't fix anything. I'm not sure if my teammates have the same issue or if they just simply never changed that option.
